A view from inside the cavern at Natural Arch. Also home to 100’s, possibly 1000’s of Little Bentwing Bats which can be seen flying around inside the cave. Nikon D40x http://www.facebook.com/cheyne79
Pastel Painting of the waterfall Purlingbrook Falls at Springbrook Lamington Ntional Park golg coast Hinterland S.E.Qld. /
One of my all time favourite spots in the hinterland of Queenslands Gold Coast. This is known as Natural Arch or Natural Bridge at Springbrook. After a good rain, this can really be over-powering and well worth the drive/walk to see it.
This image was bitch to capture and process. There was about a gazillion stops between the highlights and shadows. I think from memory I did a 9 stop bracket to capture the shadow and detail. The processing was really difficult to do without making the image look unreal. Natural Bridge is a pretty cool place to visit in Springbrook National Park in QLD. Enjoy.

Natural Arch in Springbrook National Park, Queensland is a most unusual geological feature created over millions of years by water tumbling through the roof of a basalt cave. Natural Bridge is home to an amazing colony of glow-worms, whose lights can be seen only after sunset. Lookouts and lush rainforest also grace this World Heritage-listed haven, making it one of the most popular parks in Australia. Take the short circuit walk to the natural arch over Cave Creek, and view the unique waterfall and cave. Enjoy a picnic and relax in cool rainforest. Join a nocturnal tour to see delicate glow-worms. / On summer nights, see luminous fungi and fireflies. During the day, hear the calls of paradise riflebirds, green catbirds and wompoo fruit-doves.

Autumn in the rainforest yields some great natural colours – Springbrook Qld 2009
I am very fortunate to live within walking distance of some breathtaking scenery. These falls are magic to shoot at the right time of day – Springbrook, Qld 2008
What a magical place this is Natural Bridge (also known as Natural Arch), in the World Heritage-listed, Springbrook National Park, Queensland, Australia. Over millions of years, the waters of the mountain fed Cave Creek has worn away at the basalt cave roof, to create this natural wonder. Home to a colony of glow-worms, only visible after sunset. The short hiking walk takes you through some beautiful rainforest, most of the time, you can hear the falling waters of these falls. A must see if you come to the area! Canon 50D, 14mm. Available large, and definately best viewed Large!
Found this little beauty in a farm in the Numinbah Valley, Queensland, Australia. Beautiful country scenery in this area, and looks to be locked in time in the early 1900’s.. I image this to be the shack of a farm hand at some stage. I doubt it’s still habitable, although the oranges just outside the door would make for good lunches! The white in the background are clouds, the rainy day made for lots of low cloud! Canon 50D, 60mm, 16:9 crop, 60% desaturation. I quite liked the old photo theme with this shot, hense the desaturate. Available Large, and best viewed Large!
Went for a trek with Adam Maund through Springbrook hoping to find some frogs on the way back. No frogs but we did find some Trap Door Spiders which was very interesting. / I’ll be back Summer time so I can get a few more shots but from in the water – just a little fresh for swimming now. / Springbrook National Park, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia
Would have been great to turn around and shoot this little waterfall except it was rather messy with leaf litter and a couple of branches. What does one expect in a Rainforest? / We cleaned the previous waterfall for a shoot but this had a little too much. / Great place to be come Summer. / Springbrook National Park, Gold Coast.

Taken at Springbrook National Park at The Natural Bridge on the 5th of October, 2009. The following evening we came back to view the glow worms on the cave walls, it was definitely an amazing experience (minus the stupid people shining their torches straight onto the glow worms, smoking near them and using camera flash!). I must have deleted this by accident, I wondered why my views went down by so much so fast! I shake my head at myself! Anyway, here is my favourite once again. Taken at Natural Bridge in the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland! Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. There is an interesting story to this shot which is why you won’t see it in this light very often. When I went there, they were shooting a Steve Austin movie down there. I wanted the waterfall in all it’s natural beauty and light and there was about 10000 watts of flash power set up in the cave. I couldn’t get the shot I wanted but I got a shot not many others would get. I’ve since gone back and captured it naturally but I think this added lighting really gave it the depth it deserves.
