This is the spring counterpart to my other Barred owl called Winter’s watchman Taken in the same general area in April 2005. You can tell he was just in the swampy water below, either bathing or chasing after a snake to eat, by the wetness present on his feathers.

” ~ For My Friend Byron ~ 11” / / ~ In Loving Memory of your Mother ~ / / The long winter has passed, and it’s such a joy to see the forest come alive with new buds, and the Dogwoods in bloom. I find myself strolling along through the forest gazing at these blossoms as they brighten up the early spring sky. Native Dogwoods are small shrubs varying in size, and height that thrive under Arkansas hardwood forest. The blooms are approx 1 inch in diameter. Blooms in mid-May. / / If you would you like to ADD YOUR OWN WORDS to create a personal sentiment to this as a greeting card, please / Contact Me / I will make it personal from YOU, to YOUR friends. / / FEATURED IN SPRING BLOOMS 1 24 009
This fella didn’t seem to mind the cold – this is the first time I saw him out and about – he was more evasive in the summer weather (I use the term “summer” loosely as I’m still waiting for summer 2008 to start!) ;o) American Mink at the British Wildlife Centre, December 2008. She was hard to look at; this emaciated foal with wounds covering most of her lanky body. In some places, the bones of her legs were clearly visible where pieces of her flesh have been torn away…... Abandoned by her herd – probably because of the severity of her injuries – little Spring (as we have decided to call her) was rescued late yesterday afternoon. Nikon D60 + OE There are about 100–110 species of Fuchsia. The great majority are native to South America, but with a few occurring north through Central America to Mexico, and also several from New Zealand, and Tahiti. One species, Fuchsia magellanica, extends as far as the southern tip of South America, occurring on Tierra del Fuego in the cool temperate zone, but the majority are tropical or subtropical. Most fuchsias are shrubs from 0.2–4 m (8 in-13 ft) tall, but one New Zealand species, Kotukutuku (Fuchsia excorticata), is unusual in the genus in being a tree, growing up to 12–15 m (39-49 ft) tall. / Fuchsia leaves are opposite or in whorls of 3–5, simple lanceolate and usually have serrated margins (entire in some species), 1–25 cm long, and can be either deciduous or evergreen, depending on the species. The flowers are very decorative, pendulous “eardrop” shape, borne in profusion throughout the summer and autumn, and all year in tropical species. They have four long, slender sepals and four shorter, broader petals; in many species the sepals are bright red and the petals purple (colours that attract the hummingbirds that pollinate them), but the colours can vary from white to dark red, purple-blue, and orange. A few have yellowish tones, and recent hybrids have added the colour white in various combinations. The ovary is inferior and the fruit is a small (5–25 mm) dark reddish green, deep red, or deep purple, edible epigynous berry, containing numerous very small seeds. Many people describe the fruit as having a subtle grape flavor spiced with black pepper.

This sweet bunny would make a nice easter card…....... / This little bunny came into my yard to eat while I was out on the deck, this is one of the many images I took. / It was just so cute, and going right along minding its own buisness trying to eat everything in my yard. / You can see the little marks where it tried to eat the Iris leaf, but it was too tough for its tiny nibbles. At this point here it had noticed movement from me, and huddled beneath the greenery for a moment, and them went again along its marry way…. / it was just too cute, and I am glad my Callie cat was inside:) / Painted the sweet bunny in GIMP 2 / Image taken with Canon PowerShot S3 IS
