It’s funny how different rocks have different spray patterns and this one at Redgate Beach, down in the far south west of Western Australia is no exception. The rock next to this one – out of shot – creates a high, bulky mass of spray, not at all like this. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get both lots at the same time – it didn’t seem to work that way! LOL / Redgate Beach itself, which is on the Indian Ocean, is a fabulous place some 350+ kms south of Perth and much loved by the surfing community / Camera Sony Alpha 350 dslr / 55-200 lens with cp filter / f8 at 1/250th / hand held

Taken near Mansfield, Australia during a Geelong Camera Club weekend away. / A group of riders was crossing the river as we were photographing the scene. They very kindly agreed to our request to go back and cross over again so that we could take some snaps. The spray from Horsetail Falls leaves a dangerous layer of ice on the Historic Columbia River highway and scenic area. Notice that the ferns and grass didn’t get covered with the spray from the falls and are still green and gorgeous. Horsetail Fall, Oregon located about 1/2 mile from the famous Multnomah Falls on the located on the Historic Columbia River Highway . This particular waterfall actually will spray/splash on the Columbia River Highway when it is running at it’s full capacity in the rainy winter and spring seasons. Right now, it’s probably at it’s lowest fall rate. This is a close-up of the ice that forms from the water spray of this waterfall. Notice how the ice flows away from the falls. The falls creates the wind (micro climate).
