The Giraffe, or Giraffa camelopardalis, is the largest of all land living animals. They average in weight at 1,191 kilograms (2,630 lb), and can grow to 5.2 metres (17 ft) tall.. They are related to the Deer, and graze using their long necks in the treetops, and prefer acacia growth. Canon 50D, 50mm. Available Large :)

A better-framed pic and a younger fawn. Even longer grass, though! We have lots of deer going through our yard coming from the river up the steep bank that amounts to a hill for mountain sheep, then quickly across the road, into our backyard, across the neighbor’s backyard, and over to the sweet field that’s cut 3 sometimes 4 times a summer. / This is one of the precious little ones that came through with it’s mother back in 2006.

It’s a hard life being a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! My hubby and I came home after shopping this morning. Boots was in his favourite position…. lying on the sofa. Spotty and his mom visited the back yard long and often last spring and summer. Then one day, Spotty wasn’t spotted any more. Next week, a new baby to take care of, and the non-spotted fawns and yearlings were shuffled off to live together and take care of each other.
