  • Sunlight breaks through clouds during rain to create a rainbow over Airy’s Inlet Lighthouse on the Great Ocean Road

  • A nurse at the brand new Bassett Army Community Hospital, makes final measurements of a newborn under the lights of the warming machine in one of the labor and delivery rooms. There has been a post deployment baby boom on the base of Ft. Wainwright, Alaska, after the 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team returned from a 16 month deployment last year.   • A collage of a skeleton leaf and a paper bird…I struggled to choose between this image which has had nothing at all done to it, and one that I have manipulated and added things to. In the end I decided I still need to see the raw light and untouched image sometimes, and resist my love affair with digital collage. But it was a tough decision.

  • “The world’s a theatre, the earth a stage, Which God and nature do with actors fill”- Ancient Poverb Dying storm at sea under a full moon, Bundeena Cliffs, Royal National Park. Do you ever find yourself surprised by a picture you’ve taken – it keeps calling you back and you can’t put your finger on why? You know it’s probably not going to be popular but something about it just won’t let you go. That’s this pic for me. I had a whole sequence of lightning shots from the height of this storm and was going to create a composite. But at the very end of the storm, as the full moon rose through its fraying ends this little moment happened. And it just won’t let me go.   • It was a late May evening and the tide was out in the harbout town of Tarbet on the Kintyre Peninsula. The bay provides a natural harbour in the southern section of Loch Fyne which is famous for its Finnan Haddies or smoked haddock. At first I was disappointed that the water was so low and then I spotted this scene. Nikon D200, Sigma 18-200mm. / Post-pro in PS CS4. / Location: Tarbet, Scotland, British Isles.
