spring is coming
I wanted to show these little humming birds to scale, they are different than King Fisher’s, these are a bit smaller ;) the focus in this one is more on the bird… the other one if more on the leaf, yes it’s on purpose ;) thank you for anyone that looks, and for any critique or comment.. they are truly appreciated!! shot with Quantaray Telephoto lens from approx 3 or 4 ft away I did use auto levels to cut back on the gam, and sharpened it a bit… am no good with post processing, not much better at photography until I learn the in’s and outs, but most of the stuff I upload because of this fact is usually straight out of the camera. Could use help with post also ( hint, hint ) ;)
Again, with this one the focus is more on the leaf as I intended to show the bird “to scale” with the small leaves of the tree, it’s a Ficus tree. shot with Quantaray Telephoto lens from approx 3 or 4 ft away, using Macro extension to get me closer ( it’s a 1:2 ) that’s about all I know for now until I get more knowledge under my belt. I also used auto levels on this to cut on gam warning, and sharpened 1x. Any critique or comments are greatly appreciated!!
I shot this one with telephoto set to macro for further extension of the tube… ( is only 1:2 at it’s best ) can’t wait to get extension tubes and a true macro lens!! ;) Anyhow, in full light, I supplied the droplets ;) Any and all comments OR CRITIQUE is Greatly Appreciated!!
shot with telephoto lens from approx 3 or 4 ft away using Macro extension on lens so the tube gets me closer ( 1:2 at it’s best ) full sunlight.. guess that’s about it :) ALL comments AND critique appreciated!!
this one I stood on a chair and shot over our back fence where I used to live LOL with telephoto lens ( I use that mainly anymore ) macro extension of lens ( 1:2 at it’s closest .. sadly ) from about 4 to 5ft away. full sunlight.. all comments and critique are welcomed!! :)
taken with telephoto lens using it’s macro extension ( ony 1:2 at it’s best ) / standing on elevated porch in Ramona which put me about the same height as the bird on the branch ( 1 or 2 ft ) and I was approximately 3 ft away. It was later in the day, so not scorching sun, and as he was in the tree it was shaded. He seemed to like me taking his picture, even though he and his little lady had a nest only a few feet behind and above me on one of the beams for the porch ;) all comments and critique are welcome and appreciated :)
telephoto lens using it’s macro extension and manual focus..maybe 3ft away. was getting late, so it was at full sunlight for the time of day. my son was holding his bubble for me proudly :) this was more of a concept for me, but I just love bubbles :) all comments and critique are welcome .. Thanks
definitely a metaphor for that time in my life.. things are looking up now, although now adjusting to major life changes ( with more on the way ) but I have found that it as been nice to have my camera to express my feelings. I didn’t have a “real” camera at the time this was taken, shot with a canon powershot using a bush-branch to hold the camera up.. auto timed. I have a Canon 300D now ;) which I still have mostly no clue about all the technicals.. I try to stay in manual setting and focus and to experiment. Any comments and critique are welcomed and appreciated!
shot with telephoto lens from across the 2 lane road..apparently this diner is a place where car lover’s / club members meet on Saturday mornings. Did not know that at the time, was on my way to a job and had to pull over so I could take a couple of pics.. Converted to bw. Comments and Critique are appreciated!!
will add descript tomorrow
two photos I took using Canon powershot ( what I had at the time ) shot in b & w. / / I took the stairs and everything out of background ( pic of myself ) and put myself in this tree. Words are hard to read I know, but it was sort of intentional.. more of a conceptual piece. Not very good with photo shop yet, so.. that being said all comments and critique are welcome :)
shot with Telephoto using macro telephoto extension of the tube ( 1:2 at it’s closest ) shot mid-day in partial sunlight ( covered porch ) / converted to bNw because I thought it leant more depth to the piece. A conceptual piece for me, Model my youngest daughter.
shot with canon 300d using a Quantaray telephoto lens on macro extension tube of the lens itself.. manual focus, full sunlight. Used auto levels on this as post processing. :) I had the chalk and I thought it was a cute concept :) trying to use up the leaves before they are gone, I walk around collecting them now.. am going to miss them. all comments AND CRITIQUE are welcome!! shot w quantaray telephot lens using macro extension tube of the lens ( 1:2 at it’s closest ) from approx 4 ft away. Mid day sunlight, I converted to bNw because the colors of the bird and the tree blended too well making the bird hard to see.. I really like this one in bw.
I shot with Quantaray telephoto using it’s macro extension tube ( 1:2 at closest ) was late afternoon so there was modest light in shaded area. I cropped out the little bit of his cup that I had to try and shoot around, I snapped this one off real quick because he still thought I was taking pictures of his bird ;) Will post them later. Taken at a local coffee house.. there is always SOMETHING.. just have to look for it ;) used auto levels on this, and as I said minor crop ( just took out the edge of his cup ).. all comments and critique are greatly appreciated.
and as he played it was as if nobody even knew he was there.. shot with telephoto using macro extension tube for the lens..1-2 second delay..manual, no flash. I kept him out of the ( this ) shot because for the purpose of this particular story, I liked the idea of him being almost non-existant. That really captures what the moment was like, as seen by the activity going on undisturbed just beyond where he sat. later afternoon light, no edit all comments and critique are greatly appreciated!! :)
my grandmother and my youngest daughter.. This held a lot of meaning as she has disabilities and for the longest time WOULD NOT make eye contact at all.. not til after she was almost 2 yrs. So the idea of my grandmother looking at her while she was distracted by her thoughts struck home for me. I love it at the same time, it’s HER.. and I thought it was a very special moment to capture. taken with canon 300d using macro tube on Quantaray Telephoto lens so that I could get closer on just them. full sunlight ( w partial shading provided by trees overhead ). No post process. all comments and critique are appreciated as it will help me to learn and better myself :)
sitting outside the coffee shop looking at the reflections on the glass and realized that seeing the guy inside in conjunction with the prominent reflection on the window, it could have been just as they were sitting together rather than opposing sides of the glass. Canon 300D using Quantaray Telephoto lens ( macro extension tube of lens which is only 1:2 at it’s closest ) manual focus and exposure.
was taken before I got my 300D .. using a Canon Power Shot set to long exposure..
I do believe that when nobody was looking that box jumped out of that dumpster and set out on his own somewhere out there.. he could be headed your way! ;) LOL
