  • Forgotten Childhood...
    by Kevin Kroeker

    US$6.65–US$152.00

I saw this rusted frame of a bike on the borders of this wheat field, when I saw it it reminded me of the times I spent as a kid wheeling around my own bike with a hockey card in the spokes and the flag raised high on the back and I even had a streamer or two flapping in the wind off my handlebars. To me this old rusted frame symbolizes the wonderful experiences of a fantastic childhood full of laughter, smiles and fond memories, but time is our enemy and for many of us it fades our once cherished memories to distant glimmers that flicker by on rare occasions, and like this old rusted frame are soon forgotten and will eventually fade completely. / / This replaces a previous version of the image Lost & Found. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

  • BEST VIEWED & FELT IN LARGE SIZE Friends, here we are once again colloborating our individual tallents into one piece which i guess will surely give all the viewers a sense of cool n refreshing breath of beauty all around us. I tried to paint whatever i felt with my heart the astounding unheard beauty of nature standing in front of us with its open arms without making any noise and thats what compelled me to do this sort of green and flowing artwork in oils which infact is done on a very huge canvas of 5ft by 3 & half in oil paints. This was very mesmerisingly described by my beloved dear friend Bonita who herself is a source of heavenly inspiration. She did wonders with her nature loving attitude giving words to our joint Silent Strokes – Silence Spoke colloboration about which both of us are equally glad. Hope you guys too will feel the same way. Enjoy and try to hear the silence depicted here to get even more near to Nature’s divinity. / / Mesmerising Words by dear friend : BONITA / Artwork in Oils 5ft x 3.5ft by : SHREE Silence Spoke……........ So quietly filled with silence as I looked to pale blue sky / I searched for gates of pearl complete for Heaven felt nearby…….. / The brilliant sun caressed my face as the birds all took to flight, / The whispering rocks cried peace and love as I took in all this sight. Just beyond the meadow was a brook that flowed so free, / and it sang it’s song and softly flowed such beautiful harmony. / The wind so calm yet softly blew the willow passing by, / with amazement I sat as tears flowed down for such beauty I could not deny. I stood to walk beyond the brook and just around the bend, / with eyes wide open, I beheld a sight that my eyes could not contend. / For in this place the beauty was far greater than I can say, / Thou silent it spoke a thousand words to carry me on my way. My heart rose up with hope and faith and topped it all with love, / For the silent that spoke sweet peace to me was all I’d ever dreamed of. So if you’re ever out there in the meadow beyond the brook, / Stop my friend and take the time to give it all a look. / The beauty will overwhelm you and in peace you will soon be, / for Heaven’s just beyond that place and it’s waiting for you and me. / ©Bonita Moore / Jan. 26, 2009

  • Dharmachakra
    by tkrosevear

    US$3.99–US$91.20

As the third ‘Auspicious Symbol’ of Buddhism, the WHEEL (sanskrit-chakra) consists of three basic parts: the hub, the rim, and the spokes (8). Its underlying form is that of a circle, which is recognized across all traditions as a shape that is complete and perfect in itself, qualities which inform the teachings of the Buddha too. / Individually, the rim represents the elements of limitation, the hub is the axis of the world, and the eight spokes denote the Eightfold path set down by Buddha, which leads to the cessation of all suffering. / A further esoteric interpretation makes reference to the three trainings which form an integral part of Buddhist meditative practice, associating each of the three parts of the wheel with one such practice. / The symbolism is: / HUB-training in moral discipline. Through this practice the mind is supprted and stabilized. Thus it is the practice of moral discipline that upholds our meditation, just like supporting axis of the world. / SPOKES-stand for the correct application of wisdom, which cuts off ignorance and ends suffering. / RIM- denotes concentration, which holds the entire meditative practice together, just as the wheel of life is held together by its rim. / The wheel evolved as a symbol of the Buddha’s teachings and as an emblem of the Chakravartin or ‘wheel turner’, identifying the wheel as the Dharmachakra or ‘wheel of law’. The Tibetan term for Dharmachakra literally means “the wheel of transformation”. The wheels swift motion serves as an apt metaphor for the rapid spiritual change engendered by the teachings of Buddha. Hence, Buddha’s first discourse at the Deer Park in Sarnath is known as the first turning of the wheel of dharma. Likewise, his subsequent discourses at Rajgir and Shravasti are known as the second and third turnings of the wheel of dharma.
