  • Plenty of cruising going on on Port Phillip Bay. / (with a little bit of work in the background) / Station Pier, Melbourne 8.22am on 23.12.07

  • I thought I’d found a reason to live / Just like before when I was a child / Only to find that dreams made of sand / Would just fall apart and slip through my hands / But the spirit of life keeps us strong / And the spirit of life is the will to carry on / Adversity what have I done to you / To cause this reclusive silence / That has come between me and you / And the spirit of life oh-ho remains in light / And the spirit of life oh-ho remains inside / I never thought it would be quite like this / Living outside of mutual bliss / But as long as the veins in our arms still stand up / The spirit of life will keep living on / ‘dead can dance’

  • For the first time this dear painting is out to be seen in public since I created her I kept her to myself over 2 years ago original 100×80 cm , canvas. / Best to be seen in LARGE view for details.

  • ~When I was child…. / I stood on the same dock / breathing in the same air / feeling the same glorious spirit / calling me, guiding me / setting my insides on fire / seeding a passion for the tremendous beauty of this life / bursting from my veins. / And now here she is / and there she goes / her journey begins…….. / Alone with her thoughts / embracing the energy of such sacred ground. / Not sure of what it is stirring within her….. / But knowing / it is powerful. / Not knowing / it will carry her thru her life. / I watch her, watch me. / And I think to myself…. / what does she see? / Is it the beautiful me / or the tormented me? / So full of wisdom / so beyond her years / a soul that is soaring / toward a life / I know all too well. / Oh baby… / some people will never care / but you always will… / For her enormous compassion is not of this world. / She has this connection / with all those around her / as she draws them in / and casts her spell. / My beautiful girl…….mine for just a time. / Those sweet voices are calling her…I remember. / She has found her wings / her journey has begun…….... / It will be beyond all she can imagine……... / I want to tell her to hold on tight, / but I know / this is her dance, her path, her amazing, / amazing / life. / Fly baby girl. / Soar high above it all….

  • Pride exemplified via Mramba, the male African lion at the Virginia Zoo. The future of African predators is in peril. It is estimated that only 10,000-15,000 free-roaming African lions remain, down from 50,000 a decade ago. African lions are now listed as Endangered (West African subspecies) and Vulnerable (East and Southern African subspecies) by the World Conservation Union and are on Appendix II of the CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) list. African lions are in danger of disappearing altogether due to disease (FIV, bovine tuberculosis, canine distemper) and habitat encroachment. Today’s modern world subjects lions and other wildlife to many dangers. Mankind constantly seizes more and more of the remaining wild areas of Africa, forcing lions onto smaller and smaller parcels of land. Large-scale developments destroy the lion’s natural habitat. In areas inhabited by livestock, lions are frequently shot, snared or poisoned. And sadly, the hunting of these amazing animals for “sport,” for man’s pleasure, is still encouraged as a revenue producing industry by many African governments. African predators simply will not survive unless they are protected. 100% of proceeds from any sales of this image will be donated to the Virginia Zoo

  • She drifts in the womb of the world, / holding the history of the universe in her heart, / waiting, / waiting, / waiting, / for the time when it will be safe to emerge, / a time when humanity has forgotten their craziness, / and resolved their greed, and healed their emptiness, / a time when they will truly honour creation.

  • I am more / than the sum of these wounds, / though they threaten to engulf me. / Yet sometimes, the wounds seem greater than I, / and they drag me back into / the raw and ragged edges of memory, / where pain casts a dark shadow beside me. / Within me the hands of fate have carved / a well so deep that at times there seems / NO way out, / and I claw the walls with bleeding hands and cry for release. Is this all I am? / Is this the meaning to my existence? / Is this what I came here for? Deep within I hear the whisper that tells me to look, / there IS more. / This self same well that struggles to contain my sorrow and incubate my fears, is the same vessel that would hold all my love, / even all the love of this world, / and emanate an effervescent light of joy from its depths. / Yet I pass through it without realizing I have been a prisoner / of my own choosing. How doggedly we hollow out this well, and fill ourselves with what we know, or think we do, / how blindly we allow it to define who we are, / and sound out the rhythm of our being…. / but as deep as the pain cuts darkly, / and the wound gouges out a hollow so black, / so much deeper is that place within that might burst with love and joy, an empty space resounding with potential / and the promise of healing and truth. / IF only we could realize we are more, / than that which we let overwhelm us. I was walking through the forest and saw a red glow ahead of me in the shadows….. there was a bright red circle on a fallen tree and it drew me to it. I could not believe how bright this red wound was, on this tree, a gaping, raw, bloody hole, and it made me weep inside for all living things. This is the sight, the image, that made me think more about my own woundedness, and perhaps the wounds that we all carry and too often lose ourselves in. /

  • something that represents or stands for something else, usually an object used to represent something abstract / Peace is the most important one though

  • FE Talis formula. I felt a quite prickly intensity creep over me when this appeared. I couldn’t say why, but the name Core Spirit came into my head. It’s a fractal I have had for a few years and I did some more work on it today, but still get the same feeling. It reminds me of an iris.

  • This is a composition of three different images. The brave statue was taken at Woodward Park in Tulsa Oklahoma. The Redfield filter Fractalius was applied to the bear image. Featured in Spirit of the Native American. Taken with a Sony Alpha A-100 DSLR. /

  • Out of ashes, new beginnings, / Out of fire comes new power, / Out of darkness, new day dawning, / Phoenix, help me in this trying hour. DJ Conway The Phoenix is the most famous of all rebirth symbols, a legendary bird that endlessly renews itself in fire. / Initially a symbol of the cyclic disappearance and reappearance of the Sun, the Phoenix soon became an emblem of human resurrection – and eventually of the indomitable human spirit in overcoming trials. My deepest hopes, since the onsets of Black Saturday and the devastation and sorrow felt across the lands of Australia, as well as here on redbubble with the outpourings of love, compassion and strength in thoughts and prayers is that it reaches and touches all who have lost someone, something or some part of their heart to this great fire – find the inner strength and wisdom, and most certainly feel the generosity and outpouring from so many human beings around the globe. / The empathy and compassion felt around the world is ironically, a gathering of souls in Unity – it saddens me that it takes a tragedy of this proportion to focus, it also fills me with joy that it is still possible… May we continue in the light of love and unify for the benefit of all humankind – as Love can move mountains All sales of this piece will be donated to Victorian Bushfire Appeal 2009 / This was an intention drawing while focusing on the victims of the Victorian Bushfires, photographed, colored in photoshop and Redfield plug-ins editing.

  • Blessed spirits always land high above our troubles. “Pray the Lord a struggle starts inside you for a soul matures in battlefield only.” (Thomas Merton “The wisdom of the desert”) This is dedicated to my dear friend Pol along with my best wishes. The capture has been taken on East Humboldt Range in northeastern Nevada. Enjoy!

  • Many thanks for viewing.

  • All my own photographs. edit – This is a slightly adjusted image from that first posted last night. You might gather from my responses to the comments so far that I was a touch ‘surprised’ by this image… Anyway, now that I have have had a chance to see it up here for a bit – I could see some things that I would have preferred a little differently… So – those adjustments have now been made. Please make use of the LARGE view – the textures are rather detailed… FEATURED IN ‘BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHERS UNITED’! FEATURED IN ‘MOODY, DARK AND EVOCATIVE’! FEATURED IN ‘PARALLEL DIMENSIONS’! FEATURED IN ‘A PHOTOGRAPHERS’ CRAFT’!
