Its all in the title. This isn’t just an ordinary Church Spire. I am told its a copy of the Spire at St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh. This is actually what I would consider the most prominant landmarks in Peebles. Peebles is a small Scottish Borders Town which lies about 20 miles south west of Edinburgh. Its possibly my most popular image to date out here in the real world. Made the Redbubble Home Page on the 29th of August 2008. Many thanks & best wishes from Robin; that’s me!! / Milestone reached, 1000 views. Thank you all kindly; Mum & Dad too. Reached on the 2nd of Oct 2008 / / / /
A seastack along the Oregon coast near Bandon with just enough sunset color to resemble a Halo ringing the top of this jagged rock spire on the beach near Face Rock.

This year Salisbury will be celebrating the 750th anniversary of the consecration of the completed Cathedral in 1258. / The spire is 404 feet tall, the highest in Europe… no words of mine can add anything to its beauty! Although I was born in Salisbury, so might be biased, I am sure noone would disagree with the magnificence of this marvellous building. / Captured at 17mm, 30 second exposure, f9, ISO 100 Sold as a mounted print – many thanks to the unknown buyer /
And to think I get to work under these spires at Edith Cowan University (ECU), Joondalup, Perth, Western Australia. Taken with my leica MP, 35mm lens, handheld, Ilford film – probably the 400 ISO. Sorry, I don’t know what the aperture or speed was alhough I would guess around f8 and 1/250th . I thijnk I was experimenting with filters around the time I took this so it might have had an orange filter on it to bring out the clouds. As is from camera.

Vivid colors at sunrise, captured from Bryce Point in Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah. If you ever have a chance to see a sunrise in Bryce Canyon it’s a no-brainer, even if it means getting up at 5am as I had to to capture this. All content & images © Stephen Vecchiotti. Bendigo Sacred Heart Cathedral with cross processed effect.
Arts Centre Spire, I get to walk past this most mornings. I’m so glad the tram stop on St Kilda Rd was moved to be outside the NGV instead of over City Rd. Cross processed to bring out the golds and blues.
