  • This year, 19th January is Martin Luther King Jr. Day Read his infamous speech in it’s entirety — I am neither black, nor american, nor downtrodden or disadvantaged in most senses of the word, though reading into the subject in preparation for the coming holiday, I went with something simple on the basis that no matter how fancy I tried to make this, it could not stand up to the image of the great man himself. So a couple of hours in Illustrator later, here it is. I hope some of the people viewing this image take the time to read his speech, I believe in many ways it’s as pertinent today as it was in the summer of 1963, be it for the colour of your skin, or for the choices and situations we all face in life.

  • ...as if everything they say is a question, even when it’s a statement. Where did this disease come from? It’s a pandemic that’s spread all over the UK in the past ten years and there’s no sign of it abating. / It worries me – what’s the government doing about it?

  • (If you are interested in buying in bulk, i.e. 20 or more, please contact me and I’ll drop the price for you.) I have been following the Iranian elections for a while now. After the “winner” was declared, I really got into it. This man claims to have won by a landslide, even in his opponent’s hometown. Corrupt? I think so. After the results were announced, supporters of Moussavi (the opponent) began to protest, as they too thought something was fishy. Protesting led to rioting, which lead to police, military, and paramilitary forces killing seven people and wounding many others. These others are now living in fear. The government has raided schools. They are tracking Iranians on the internet, trying to shut down the internet, and are kicking all foreign media out of the country. Twitter.com has exploded with this. Iranians are sneaking on to send news and photos. People around the world are changing their location to Tehran to confuse the Iranian government that is searching for Iranian bloggers. They are setting up proxies. They are sharing news. They are giving support and advice. It is amazing what people will do for each other. Sadly, it seems that most people and much of the media doesn’t care. Media groups are focusing more on the Letterman joke than on the people murdered. People in the younger generations are getting nothing. I had someone ask me if Tehran was a person or a place; that’s how bad it is. So imagine if you show up to class, or coffee, or work, sporting this. People will ask. And you can tell. Keep Iran Free.
