A spiral weather vane or wind vane made of colorful strips of cloth and sprockets, is captured in a way that creates an abstract, yet only some parts are sharp to give the viewer an idea of the object and how it works. / CONSIDER THIS IMAGE AS A COMPANION! /
A4 Abstract Coloured Drawing, completed around 1990. I sold this to one of my students, but made a good copy of it first. This one was featured on a 1st angel blog, here: http://1stangel.co.uk/art/todays-featured-art-is-purple-vortex-by-lynda-stevens

I have witnessed very courageous people as they face their daily pains and transcend them into new planes of consciousness and personal renewal. This painting is dedicated to Debbie who sees the light waves of the spectrum. No realms are insurmountable except by what we limit ourselves. Painted for James March 2008 – With love from Debbie

Corio Bay in Geelong. A lovely soft morning with beautiful colours. I added a tone-mapping filter layer to ‘pop’ the colours which I reduced to 50% opacity.

From the old, old computer game I used to play on the C64. Play it online here! Here’s a great article on the mystery surrounding the creator of Manic Miner, Matthew Smith.

No Photoshop work except for basic levels adjustment. The splash was created from a tap falling into a shot glass. I used a book with an irridescent cover on it, so when the flash went off, this brought out the colours. Canon EOS 300D / Canon 18-55mm lens / 1/160s exposure @ f4.5
/ / Best viewed large / / Detail / Self Portrait for the Happy Challenge in which you have to rate yourself on a scale from 1-10 (1 being seriously depressed, 10 being the happiest) and then create self-portrait expressing that state. Any artistic medium/technique is allowed. Hmmm I’m thinking glass half full at the moment, and enjoying all the colours of the rainbow in Inner Child, so i shall rate myself as a reserved 7.0… the painting is a reflection of myself at my most peaceful, daydreaming as I tend to do often…. The painting began as a pencil drawing on cardboard, using chalk pastels and charcoal to lightly fill in the flesh tones, finished off the piece adding to it digitally in Photoshop. / Here it is prior to photoshop. / The portrait looks quite serious, which is translating as sadness, and I can see what everyone’s saying.. but I was happy at the time. The Challenge is now open for entries. Voting starts in 20 days.
I have Asperger’s Syndrome. It is an Autistic Spectrum Disorder. / Sometimes it makes life a little difficult, but it also helps me look at the world differently to most “neurotypicals”. Which, I guess is not such a bad thing. / Autistic Spectrum Disorder is often represented by a rainbow symbol (usually arainbow in the shape of an infinity symbol). / Many autistics are fascinated by shiny objects, so I thought this mirror ball in my stepmother’s yard was very fitting. /
