Macro of Tiger lily in the evening sun. / The light in this photo comes from the descending late afternoon sun behind the bud. It was so strong at this one moment that it created the glow you see emitted from within the flower. I took this photo from the sidewalk along Peachtree Dunwoody RD in Atlanta, Georgia. Now available in a larger print /

This was taken at the Thunder Over Louisville fireworks show, which is part of the Kentucky Derby festival. At first I was annoyed that these guys were standing in the way…for most of the fireworks, it wasn’t a problem, but when they did the burning cascades over the bridge, they were right there…oy! Now I’m glad they were there…what are your thoughts? Thanks for looking! Here’s a link to their site if you’d like to learn more: / http://www.thunderoverlouisville.org/ /

I love the feeling of this image of the observatory up on the hill that is for watching but in the foreground the tree seems to be watching over the observatory….

In October 2006, I went along to a Thai Kickboxing night at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall, and came away with some really memorable shots. This one to me is almost Biblical, with everyones faces obscured, except for the Boxer, who is being prepared for the inevitable.

I visited a local(ish) Thai Boxing Gym tonight, primarily to shoot a group photo of some of the national title winners. However, as soon as I walked in the gym, there was alot more to be done. / As anyone who has been in a boxing/martial arts gym, skipping is probably the one thing that stands out in the mind, second only to sparring. The repetative sound of the rope slapping against the gym floor and the look of complete concentration in the skippers eyes is magical.

This monk was in the Cambodian National Museum, Phnom Penh, looking at a series of photographs about the life of Cambodian monks. I liked the sense of isolation and thought that surrounded him.

Boston @ Yankee Stadium, 8/07(Yankees Won). I like this photo not only because it shows how hot the players are, but how much is going on behind them—smiling, concentrating, interacting, even on cell phones…and check out those photographers!

Shot this a few years ago whilst shooting a drift event in Melbourne. The silhouettes of these kids scrambling on a hill to get the best vantage point, and just generally being kids and having fun, kind of reminds me of the days when I had nothing better to worry about than just getting a great view.

They watch intently in hopes that their team will win. Standing in the bleachers off the 50 yard line. As the quarteback throws the ball, spiraling down the feild, one boy closes his eyes, as the other cheers “Let’s go!” Someone catches the pass, and rushes through the defense. The spectators in the stand begin to shout and scream. “TOUCHDOWN!” for the home team.
