/ Beachcombers / a little drawing I created by hand a few weeks ago, I’ve just completed painting this one digitally, in time for Mother’s Day in Australia which falls on May 10 (just happens to be my birthday too :) Here’s the before shot: / / Karin (myself) and Sal (my mum) at Yamba on holiday in 1968
In a magical moment between night and day, there is a special place and time. The time between seconds, when light and dark both have equal play. / So quick, so fleeting, this special time. / The blink of an eye and it is gone again. / The catch of a breath in the cold morning air, this special time between. / It is my passion to capture this time. / To freeze it and hold it forever. / An endless journey, an endless quest. / This one small moment in time. / Deri Dority 2007
More from the Lightscapes Set Gorgeous morning at a car boot. I got distracted by this and walked off a bit to take this at 5.30am on a cold winters morning.

Meet Mo. He is a little squirrel who loves the quiet of the darkness. He loves making wishes and shooting them into the sky towards the twinkling stars! Will his wishes all come true? This is a print of an original illustration that I did with ink and digitally colored. Mo and Teeny are two little squirrels that live in my head….they had to come out eventually! Mo is available for limited prints and cards. Thanks for looking! ~Shelli xoxo / More of my work is available here: www.dazeychic.etsy.com

Looking at these three different colored roses reminds me that we are all different-yet all the same. Each is special!
/ Medium Size Print/Cherry Frame/Off White Matt Watercolour crayons, watercolour pencils, faber castell pencils, ink, acrylic, wax, gesso acrylic, chalk pastel, pen, charcoal on paper This began as a drawing while on holiday at an island resort, it’s one of those paintings that seemed to have a mind of it’s own, and wanted to be painted a certain way…even though I had different ideas, this is the end result. LOL I was originally going to colour her very gently with wax and soft pastels…but she became more and more vibrant as I went along. Perhaps the colouring says something of how vibrant we become when we are well rested, balanced and relaxed.

Every Sunday a steam train makes it way down from Bristol to Kingswear filled with steam enthusiasts, mainly on the main Paddington to Penzance line. Quite exciting to see it pass Dawlish at about 40MPH with the whistle blowing and people cheering it on it’s way along the scenic coastal section of the trip.
CELEBRATE! Celebrate! is a title I chose for this single, stunning rose, / which stood out in a special vase of beautiful, / mixed roses that I received for my birthday.
This was painted in Photo Shop on a blank file set at 300 dpi. This painting is NOT photo generated or photo manipulation. This Is Mitch. He is my creation. He is was born in Venice Italy. His mother is Italian his father… well your just going to have to wait till I get his first chapter written. His family moved to the states , NYC, when he was 6. / After his father died his mother (never very caring in the first place) took off and he was left alone to bury his father at the age of 9. The only thing of value he had was a black Journal. After reading it Mitch finds out he is much more than just human. The continence of the journal was the history of his grandfather. Not wanting what happened to his grandfather to happen to him, Mitch takes to the streets. He spent his time growing up on the streets where he met an old blues player who taught him to play a guitar and sing the blues. That’s how he got money, singing on the streets and in joints. With his deep soulful voice and good looks getting a gig was easy. But it wasn’t enough, not for the life he wanted. / So being Italian… It was easy for him to find “other” work. He had learned to knife fight on the streets and became quite good. Then he hooks up with a small time drug lord and so it begins his true life of crime, soon Mitch becomes the right arm man for one of the biggest Mobsters in NYC…… Later , at the height of his success, just 18 Mitch unknowingly kills the Godfather’s nephew in a jealous rage, now he’s their target. / / Copyright / These Images and Writings Do Not Belong To ANY Public Domain. or also known as ‘I always knew I was special’, or ‘you can bow down now’, LOL! / Still on the dam, in a moment of calm. A little bit more playing in Photoshop. Her Highness just gave me her own opinion of this image – ‘It’s dumb, I like the other one’, LOL! And after I’d been so nice about her drawings too…! :)

FLANDERS FIELDS / The only postprocessing is some contrast added. Taken trough a steamy window that was a little dirty. Nabij Ieper. Niet veel photoshop. Enkel maar wat contrast verhoogd. De foto is genomen van uit een stal door het bedampte raam. De druppels dropen eraf.
Took this at my best friend’s wedding last year, this was her bouquet….isn’t it lovely and perfect bunch of roses? :-)
Had an oppy to meet the founder of Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens, She is about 86 years young and still doing well. She indicated that this flower was her favorite in the entire botanical garden, I took about 20 shots from different angles and this is the one I chose. Nikon D70s Nikon 70-300 EDIF lens at about 1:4.5 magnification
This was a night of fun… experimenting with my camera… there are no Photoshop works here either… it is as is… :) Enjoy… :)
