  • My niece and kids helping me amuse myself and experiment with sparklers. Got the kids to practise and once they got the hang of it just kept shooting till I got the best shot. I was doing a photography course at the time and learning about exposure and this was the shot I entered for our graduation night slideshow.   • My nephew, enthralled with his sparkler! received ‘Best in Show’ award among all adult photo entries (all categories) in the Elizabethtown Fair, 2008 sought out (here on redbubble!) to be on the cover of a fireworks magazine in February of 2009

  • Taken in a very narrow alley located in brisbane, this shot was a spur of the moment shot with Matthew risking gettng burnt by the spaklers to trace his shape. I think it works rather well :)

  • About I hate naming photos, I always have so much trouble doing so. This shot was taken on the recent Brisbane Meetup at Toowong Cemetery. Some beautiful angels are located at the top of one of the hills and are well worth the visit. It is important to note that we had permission to enter the cemetery to take photographs and also the fact that I didn’t climb over any graves to take these photographs. - ISO 200, f5, 30 sec, 28mm / - Sigma 18-200mm OS Lens / - Tripod with sand in the joints Processing - Soft light layer. / - Negative Clarity and and unsharp mask. / - Some cleaning up of the sparkler bits.

Camera: Canon EOS 40D / Exposure: 168 / Aperture: f/4.5 / Focal Length: 17 mm / ISO Speed: 400 / Exposure Bias: 0 EV / Flash: Off custom white balance and 1 hand held SB-25 popped at 1/1 with an oragne gel to the scene.
