From the exhibition titled ’ I wannabe a star’,2001. / Inspired by the current wave of reality tv shows(survivor, bootcamp, backyard blitz, big brother, australian idol etc) / After having discarded her fellow contestants, the female contestant tries to flee the confines of the reality tv world but finds the telephone has no socket. She is trapped (a la ‘Big Brother’) in a endless loop waiting to be voted off.

Young Macaques taken care of each other in the hot springs near Shiga Kogen, Japan. These guys come down everyday from the mountains where they live to soak it up. Madeline lays relaxing in the blue waters. Now what is amusing about this picture is that everyone else in the area is wearing their bare minimum; however, Madeline being prone to sunburn is wearing her australian bather, which is somewhat like a lycra suit. Amazingly the blue works perfectly in the image.. We did laugh about the fact she could have worn a full wetsuit and goggles- she was close as it was!

During the summer high season, steam trains run from York to Scarborough. I took this shot a couple of years ago, once again with a compact camera which I tend to carry with me most of the time. I think the setting is right for this shot, the old steam train passing rows of old terraced houses. MY STEAM AND RAIL SET

Ripon Spa Baths, built in 1904, where the rich would go and bathe, the swimming pool was built in the 40’s and it showed, it resembled an old air raid shelter built on the back with typical 40’s decor, green and cream, unfortunatly i didnt take my camera swimming with me.

Ok well sometimes I find webs covered in dew or rain but this one was sprayed by yours truly, he didn’t budge and I got the heeby geebies from it ewwwwwh ! This is a macro shot…..........the droplets are macro so the spider must be as well huh? the spider was the size of a nickle or so.

A young Macaque sits and reflects on how good life is in these parts for a monkey. Soaking up the hot springs in the Shiga Kogen N.P. and just rolling around in the snow with his mates…yep, life is good…!!
