“Dressed To Dance” is a signed, original, oil and acrylic painting. / Painted on artist stretched canvas with wrapped/stapled edges painted. This allows for hanging of the painting without framing. / 16”x 20” in overall size, unframed. / All of my paintings are sprayed with a final professional artist protective varnish. The Native American people are one of my favorite to paint. The colors, the dress, the attitude and expressions of time on their faces is a constant artistic challenge. As with all of my artwork , my initials are on the front with full signature, title and date on back. / Thank you for viewing my art.

Walking down gallery row in Santa Fe, New Mexico the art meca of the southwest, I saw this garden full of bronze statues (I believe made by the artist Star Liana York). The integration with the surrounding garden was superb. This picture is one of a series of pictures I took, just walking down the street. If you love art, someday you will have to visit Santa Fe, and be enchanted by the scenery as well as the local art.

The Skip Maisel building was constructed in the style of Pueblo Deco and was a landmark structure in its day, not only for its architectural grandness, but also because native americans were permitted to display their wares there in person, which was a rare event in the US in the first half of the twentieth century. Murals on the building were painted by Olive Rush and early native amaerican artists such as Ha-So-De and Harrison Begay. One of the “Must Have’s” in the desert is an inner courtyard where you can control the water system and the intense heat with a (usually) 5 foot wall that encloses the front of your house. This is an oasis for us and stays alive with alternate blooming of the different and varied plants that will live all year long. / / / /

This westward-facing juniper tree caught my eye at the Sandia Peak recreation area of the Cibola National Forest in New Mexico. I took this photo on June 27, 2009. When we flipped the page on our New Mexico calendar three days later, the same tree was used for the July photo, taken by David Meunch. A week later, I noticed the same tree on the cover of a New Mexico photo book by Laurence Parent. I guess it is sort of like buying a new car and then noticing how often the same make and model seems to cross your path thereafter. Pentax K20D, 1/400 @ F6.3, ISO 200.
