As the tide rises, the waves start to gouge out the sand bank and create a new gutter along the beach. The Spit.

managed to just squeeze this in before it started to bucket down- the winds went gale force. Normally I shoot from the other side of the broadwater but the storm split and ended up behind me. Main Beach

Looking towards the Hi-rises of Main Beach and Surfers Paradise in the background with the Sundale Bridge crossing the Nerang River/Southport Broadwater. The little red light on top of the building is Q1, if storms are active this is where I try to point my lens.

I liked the way the sun lit up the yacht’s sail while out on the Southport Broadwater as the buildings Of Southport started to cast their shadows.

A slow shutter speed has created two different effects as the clouds appeared blurred and the water has been smoothed out whist looking towards Southport across the Southport Broadwater.

Murphy's Law
by drecLightning was striking middle and to the right of this frame and not much was landing over the Hi-Rises of Surfers Paradise. I made sure I had Q1 just inside the frame and it managed to get hit, I caught half of the bolt but missed the half that went left. / This spot has potential, just need the storms to not drift so far south. / Taken @ The Southport Pier

Looking across The Southport Broadwater from Versace’s and Marina Mirage through to the Hi-Rises of Main Beach and Surfers Paradise. (Q1 is the last building on the right). I had hoped to catch an earlier storm but it split and bypassed the Coast, so I returned a little later to watch the second show. / I still think Wednesday will be the day. / 17/11/09

It did look promising for a while though the storm split and drifted inland and out to sea. Still managed to land this bolt at a guess, hitting Cheveron Island just west of Surfers Paradise. / Over looking the Southport Broadwater towards Main Beach and Surfers Paradise. 05/12/09
