The rolling green hills of this region created a great layered effect as rain fell and I was able to feature this windmill and tank in the mist blue grey light. / Taken on Fuji S3 Pro / ISO 200 / f8 / 1/250 sec / 450mm focal length
Fine rain falls over green rolling farm lands in the Southern Flinders Ranges. / As I travel along my eyes constantly scan the landscape looking for photo oportunities. / As was case here Iwhenshooting in the rain…drove my 4wd up over an embankment and framed the image by positioning the 4wd…I then wound down the window and shot this horizontal image,up with window to wipe the lens dry and then a vertical followed. I have lost count of the times I have used this technique to great advantage.

The World Beyond the Window Day starts once again / Daylight moves black to blue / As the increasing light / Changes the green tree to lime / The sun dances in the sky / Beyond the window glass / The world begins moving / The same repetitive movements / As people get into axle wheel position / And I start my day without you still.. (c)2008 Mary Campbell ___________ Take a walk in Magnolia Plantation, SC in the spring and you’ll see live oak trees covered with spanish moss, azaleas in bloom and just wonderful flowers everywhere. This is a place left pretty much in tack, from before the civil war in the US. The grounds are beautiful, the house much smaller that one might imagine. Camera Canon 5D

Another shot from the Steam Train Museum at Thirlmere in the Southern Highlands of NSW (Australia) ... I could not escape the ‘feel’ of the 1920’s, so I added an ethereal Flapper, some film grain, and effects to hopefully suggest a byegone era. Still feeling my way with these special effects so all constructive suggestions gratefully received!! Flapper Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM / / / / / /

suddenly you thought of dreams from a misplaced day / the open hearted anguish that trickled out the dawn / could you believe in nothing and still call in something / the sun will finally rise when you’ve wished it never would what are you to see so back from tomorrow you see inside of me / did the morning come to greet you / was it suffering like a lonely sea / and your lonely stare……looks different today.. you opened up a suitcase and said fuck the other days / the point of execution was the sign you needed now / a locked door on the front but there’s a path round the back / and hurting seems beneath you so stay up in the dark what are you to need so back from tomorrow you see inside of me / did the morning come to greet you / was it suffering like a lonely sea / and your lonely stare……looks different today.. there’s nothing you can’t understand / you need it now somehow so back from tomorrow you see inside of me / did the morning come to greet you / was it suffering like a lonely sea / and your lonely stare……looks different today.. -me

For Jan Timmons whose wonderful forum thread here has been the most enjoyable and thought provoking fun… A wonderfully sited bench on the shore of st mary’s loch, enjoyed by the club sailors there and a resting spot for visitors and hikers along scotlands southern upland way. Running runs from coast to coast this bit of the path goes along the lochside between historic Traquair and the Tibbie Shiels inn.. both places with fascinating history… Taken 5/6/09 with a witness to attest this is scotland and the sky really was this colour… !! ... tho it was chilly enough for the capsizing sailors there…LOL.. :)) Nikon D60 / Nikkor lens VR 18-200 / UV filter / Tripod and selftimer!!! f/13 / 1/160sec / ISO200 / 18mm Cheers and thanks heaps for looking / :))))))
This is my beloved home. An old water powered stone mill. While running as a mill the building used to reach over the lawn, down to the little stream by the bridge where there also was a channel leading the water to the wheel. This old road was a main transport with wadeing point and the house history goes all the way back to 1520. Furthermore, it has been an inn. This music from John Barry is my favourite when I work. Please open in another window! I rent the place, love it and never going to leave it.
