A vista of Melbourne’s Southbank, from level 55 of the Rialto Tower. Taken for an exciting little project I’m working on at the moment. It was very difficult to avoid reflections of internal lights and carpet on the glass (the outdoor area was closed due to high winds). Using my jacket as a hood, along with a polariser, seemed to work – but I think the other people up there were wondering what on Earth I was doing!

I always think some city shots will look great in black and white. At the same time, I was trying my hands on HDR photography. This shot came about as my first attempt to HDR. The highly desaturated colour works well in giving it an almost Gotham City like mood – though it was purely an accident. You see, I had taken my shots in B&W, though for some reason Photomatix reads in colour information from my RAW files too.

l was near the Tower Bridge, I wanted to take some picture of the tower but everywhere I was going some photographer with their tripod were getting there before me.. / so I decided to observe things I had never noticed before.. /

Merry go Round horse. I loved the look in its eye..the character that lives for ever. Weather beaten, windswept but still they go on and on. I loved the strong features to it. Taken Southbank Melbourne, July 2008.
