  • I always think some city shots will look great in black and white. At the same time, I was trying my hands on HDR photography. This shot came about as my first attempt to HDR. The highly desaturated colour works well in giving it an almost Gotham City like mood – though it was purely an accident. You see, I had taken my shots in B&W, though for some reason Photomatix reads in colour information from my RAW files too.

  • Queens Parade, South Melbourne

  • A vista of Melbourne’s Southbank, from level 55 of the Rialto Tower. Taken for an exciting little project I’m working on at the moment. It was very difficult to avoid reflections of internal lights and carpet on the glass (the outdoor area was closed due to high winds). Using my jacket as a hood, along with a polariser, seemed to work – but I think the other people up there were wondering what on Earth I was doing!

  • people walking in the turbine hall of the tate modern art gallery in london the other day

  • View of Melbourne by night from Southbank. It was a mild winters night and we weren’t the only photographers out and about! Thanks for the Canon DSLR feature- Taken with Canon 40D, 17-85 mm lens at 17mm, tripod, remote shutter release, f4, 5 secs, 100 ISO. Great camera!

  • Another quick capture tonight, from work to the tube, just as the night was falling around 5:30pm. These are the lights on the South Bank of the river Thames, close to Waterloo bridge. To me, the varying size of the lights on the picture and the slight curve of the layout, like just like a string of pearls.
