4th December 2002 – my first total eclipse of the sun experience, which was in the desert of south australia.. Over 8000 people from all over the world turned up to witness the eclipse just near sunset.. with a totality of 27 seconds. The festival went for 5 days with non stop Psytrance music on several stages.. I also trekked to Turkey in 2006 to attend my 2nd total eclipse experience – i hope to experience four if im able (2009 India/Nepal and 2012 Australia). Its an experience everyone should witness .. People ive met at these festivals have become long life connections… this picture has a little story here in my journal

A lone pelican standing in the shallow waters north of the Kingscote Pier. He was a good guy, he walked right up to me … within 10metres. Both of us enjoyed our time, but I really enjoyed capturing these photographs! Yes, this has been manipulated to reveal the details of the beak and blow-out the background. This beautiful Pelican landed right in front of me while I was photographing the beach and ocean. Seems he wanted me to capture his good side. Every time I swung the zoomlens in his direction, he made sure to face the way he wanted. Must have spent over an hour here, because shot about 150 photographs! The light was right, the pelicans were waiting for their nightly feed and I had my “EF Zoom 75-300mm 4-5.6mm III” lens ready for that next ‘awesome’ shot. This one appeared before me and I shot fast!
