Dune Road lightening sunset looking from the beach marshes and over The Shinnecock Bridge, which is barely visable, in Hampton Bays a Hamlet in the town of Southampton, Long Island, New York, USA
Dune Road in the Hampton`s is very well known. This portion of the road is in the Hamlet of Hampton Bays, a hamlet in the town of Southampton. Nicely so as there is no development here as are the other portions of the road which are filled with mansions on the ocean and bay sides.
This colorful sunset setting has a slight view of The Shinnecock Bridge. The Bridge is one of the few overland ways to get to the barrier beaches on Dune Road. The location is Hampton Bays, Long Island, New York, a fishing village and Hamlet in the town of Southampton, USA.

Two out of the three Cunard Queens in my home city of Southampton today. This is the first and last time all three ships will be seen together in the UK, as the Queen Elizabeth 2 is being retired to become a tourist attraction in Dubai. In the foreground is the newest ship, the Queen Victoria and in the background, the oldest ship, the Queen Elizabeth 2. Unfortunately, the Queen Mary 2 was berthed further down the docks so couldn’t be included in the shot.

A retired and preserved Lightship on a Quay at Southampton
As I post this photo, the QE2, the most famous ship in the world, will be departing my home city and her home port for the last time, to become a floating hotel in Dubai. This is purely a documentary shot, captured before 9am this morning as the Queen waits for her big day. The day started off badly when strong winds caused the ship to run aground on a sandbank at the entrance to Southampton Water, but no damage was done and a fleet of little tugs pulled her into deeper water so she could sail home for the last time. Southampton is home to the greatest ocean liners in the world, but this old lady who is over 40 years old and has sailed 5.9 million miles will be sorely missed. Note the red poppy in the midground – the QE2 became a troop ship in the Falklands War (I was even there to see her leave) and Armistice Day is a perfect choice for her farewell.
