  • Sunrise at Salamander Bay, New South Wales

  • South-end-on-sea. England. Sunset

  • When I woke up before dawn and found myself wondering along the shore with a camera a tripod, this was precisely the image I was after. The boat reminded me of the frailties of our existence, all alone, stranded at low tide, unable to float around with any dignity with the ominous clouds closing in on it’s steel hull. Yet it stood proud and tall, living each day as it came at the mercy of nature and the elements around it.

  • Shortly after the dream, the mountains breathed out a morning glow across the still surface of a murky glacial lake.

  • The mornings are starting to cool off here now, with some mist rising off the sea. But Tathra Beach is still a great place to hang out or go for a walk! Image taken 28.04.2008. For better viewing click on ‘View Larger’.

  • Sunset over Tathra Beach and Wharf on 29th June 2008. This panorama was made stitching together 4 images. No manipulation of colour has occurred to this image! Mimosa Rocks National Park is in the background. It was a great sunset over a few glasses of ‘red’! For best viewing click on ‘view larger.

  • Global Warming? Yeah… no worries! We just have to….. Global Financial Crisis? Yeah… well they just need to….. Our State’s finances falling in a hole? Yeah… all they need is…. You name any problem, personal – or on a global scale – and I reckon that these three old blokes – with their combined wisdom and common sense – / could come up with a solution for it. Couldn’t possibly do any worse than the current hopeless self-interested lot! Standing on the end of the Kiama wharf on a sunny Spring afternoon can do wonders for your sense of perspective!

  • Tathra shows off some beautiful sunsets over winter. This was certainly one of them shadowing over the very historic Tathra Wharf which is listed by the National Heritage Trust. Mimosa Rocks National Park is in the background. For maximum viewing, click on view larger Enjoy!

  • The Beachport Jetty in the Limestone Coast, the second longest in South Australia. The jetty is currently closed for repairs with most of the upper structure being replaced. The railway tracks and handrails have been removed and I believe the rails will be back up in time or the Christmas Holiday rush when the towns population goes from 450 up to about 5,000!!!! A rare chance to get a shot like this before the repairs are finished. Three shot stitch in Photoshop CS3. Canon 400D 18/55 with CIR Polarising filter.

  • Down at Long Jetty, Central Coast NSW

  • A polished wooden boat on display at the Heritage Afloat Festival at Toronto, New South Wales. I applied an Oil Painting filter to one copy of the Original Layer, then selectively coloured the boat to make it stand out from the black and white background. I decided to tint the B&W layer because it’s a more colourful way to do S/C, while still focusing the viewers attention on the full colour bit of the scene. The photograph was taken using a 6 MP Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S500 and was As Is until I applied the treatment. The Untouched Original Digital Photograph: / The Edited Photograph For Sale: /

  • Lake Hauroko, South Island, New Zealand. Out of the way lake, deep down south. / Deepest lake in New Zealand.

  • Went out tonight and had another bash at night photography with my new Gorillapod – incredibly therapeutic, even if I did get lost twice and as a result spent most of the night walking. My feet hurt…! This is the view across the Thames from the Albert Embankment, just along from St George Wharf. Vauxhall Bridge is on the left. Canon 400D, Sigma 17-70 @ 19mm, f16, 40s, ISO100 St George Wharf is a riverside development in the London Borough of Lambeth, England, located on the southern bank of the River Thames beside Vauxhall Bridge.

  • One of the many small settlement’s within the confines of Jervis Bay New South Wales Huskisson becomes a mecca for tourists from all over the world.

  • South Wharf, Melbourne – just outside the Melbourne Convention Centre. I found online council notes from January this year, proposing the idea that the public participate in some kind of competition to name the bridge. So far as I can tell, this concept is still in the pipeline… Unedited. Lumix TZ11.
