An online exhibition of images from the 2008 Grenfell Henry Lawson Festival of Arts street parade.
About the festival The Grenfell Henry Lawson Festival of Arts is an Australiana festival held each year on the Queen’s Birthday holiday weekend in June. The first festival was conducted in 1958 and it’s been held every year since. The event celebrates the legacy of famous Australian poet and writer, Henry Lawson, who was born on the Grenfell gold fields on 17 June 1867. He died in Sydney on 2 September 1922. The object of the festival is to promote and gain recognition for aspiring Australians in various fields of arts. They include: verse, short story, song, art, photography and television. In 2008, I was awarded the Drover’s Wife bronze statuette for photography at the Grenfell Festival of Arts for Best Photograph of the Exhibition with my photograph, Dog Rocks. / Darren holding the Drover’s Wife bronze statuette adjacent to the Henry Lawson obelisk. All images are for sale as various products here, and they can be licensed for promotional activities. Contact me by email or phone to discuss your licensing requirements. © Darren Stones 2008.
