Miningie on Lake Albert, South Australia. With the current drought the lower lakes of the River Murray are quickly receding and leaving many towns and farms without ready access to water. / “Without Water” farms and country towns wither and die.

Normanville / Located 72 km south of Adelaide and 35 km west of Victor Harbour, Normanville is a pleasant holiday resort town. At one stage it was a busy port servicing the area which was one of South Australia’s richest wheatbelt districts. Its focus is now firmly on modern tourism. In a historic village called “1880 Town” near Murdo, SD there is a perfectly preserved Old West village with a simulated cowboy shoot out on main street and the whole nine yards. Its a little corny, but worth the stop. Besides some interesting historical buildings and artifacts, there is a museum full of items from the movie set “Dances with Wolves” (filmed near Murdo). Also a resident of 1880’s town was Cisco, the famous “Dances with Wolves” horse. / Theold train on its wooden rails was fascinating and I thought that the effect I later added gave it a real “story book” feel. /
The cute little white stucco bell tower in the centre of the rustic village of Toconao, Atacama Desert, Chile.
Despite being on the Southern Ocean This is a very well named bay because it is in the lee of a small cape and as a result escapes the worst of the ocean’s fury. It looks quiet here but we were out of season – a few weeks earlier and there would have been a lot of people here, many of whom have holiday homes in the area.. The location is on the south coast of Western Australia between the small towns of Walpole and Denmark and about 450 kms from Perthhttp://images-3.redbubble.com/img/art/border:blackwithdetail/product:laminated-print/size:small/view:preview/1271256-1-peaceful-bay.jpg!

Stanton Hall in Natchez, Mississippi, is a lovely old home high on the bluffs of the town overlooking the Mississippi River. In the 1800s, it was built for a little over $84,000 but is worth millions today.

The doped-up but particularly colourful town of Nimbin in northern New South Wales has events like ‘Mardi Grass’ and ‘buisnesses’ like ‘Bringabong’. This sign gives an indication of how laid back things can get. View larger to read.

Today was the show at my town, Kadina, and a man, woman, and son were walking around the showgrounds with upto about 5 or so Kelpie-cross puppies. The one shown in this picture I took a liking to, I wanted to take him home so bad! He was adorable, plus, he liked sitting on my lap.

I started a file, this summer, of images taken around Dryden. Maybe they’re not great landscapes, or images that provoke a lot of thought, but they’re home – where I live. This is an image of a picnic table overlooking Wabigoon Lake at Flat Rock – a popular fishing spot, located at the west end of Sandy Beach. If it’s so popular, where’s the people, you ask. Well, I said it was popular, not overcrowded. Luckily, one commodity we have in spades, is space. A busy place, to me, is when there’s one or two people there three of five times when you visit. This was one of the other two. lol. We hope you enjoy the little glimpses of our world. Olympus E-510; 14-42 mm lens / ISO 100; f:8; 1/25 second. / Equivalent focal lenght: 28 mm.
