Enjoy!
“In a cold autumnal afternoon, a wide array of fruit and vegetables caught my eye in a farmstand. Among green, yellow, orange and brown, these plump strawberries stood in a sharp bright pink contrast. / / From a closer look, their skin became surprisingly aglow in sheer fuchsia. They beckoned to me: Now, come closer, take a photograph on us!.” / / / / Artist statement / My photographs are not enhanced; they represent the true nature and colours of the subjects as captured by the lens. I never lure my animated subjects to come close to me: spontaneity is the key. / / This is an original uncropped image.

... or ‘Sour Bill’ as my dear old Grandad used to call them, although he grew every plant and flower in his garden with such love and had me gardening with him as soon as I could walk. This is for him! The most wonderful man I have ever known in my life and I still miss him,
She must have been inspired by Strawberry Shortcake!

Special thanks to Larry for letting me pull his lemon tree apart (only to use one tiny branch in the end!), and to all the shift workers who dangled it above Lauralie while I was shooting. Even with that sour lemon she looks sweet as sugar.

We used to call this sour grass when I was a kid. You would pick the stem of the flower and chew on it. It was very sour, kind of like Rhubarb. When I got in to the horticulture 22 years ago I found out this is really Oxalis pes-caprae. This was shot at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California. Thank you for checking out my new work. This reminded me of something sweet and sour..the colors being sweet and bright like cotton candy, yet the rust adding a sourness or roughness to it…again some rust and very bright colorful graffiti on a train car Nikon D90 / 18-200 MM VR lens /

Lots of pics of lemons and limes around I know but I thought I would try it myself and I do love a bit of macro and I did have left over limes from my pad thai so… For those who may want to know the actual shot was taken using an old flouro desk lamp with a bit of white acrylic over the top to make a sort of improvised light box, I then balanced the lime on the acrylic. It also helps to cut the lime extremely thin to allow the light to penetrate the ‘flesh’ and reveal the detail Camera: Canon 590 IS / ISO 80 / shutter 1/800 / F2.6
