Digital painting based on digital illustration based on the digital manipulation of a digital photo I shot in a studio a few years ago. Dig it, Doug? The proceeds of all sales go to World Vision, an organisation dedicated to looking after children in Third World countries. .... EXCEPT, while it still runs through Phoenix Appeal, these proceeds will go to the RED CROSS VICTORIAN BUSHFIRE APPEAL. Check out my web site www.twistedirony.com.
“As I wandered about a rose garden in New Farm, Brisbane, I happened across this magnificent specimen, blooming and full of splendour, satin petals almost gleaming with vitality.” A wallpaper for your computer’s desktop may be obtained by clicking the image below.
“This pale rose looked splendid and lustrous, shadowed in the stark contrast of the fading afternoon light.”
To Be Entered into the Cute and Creepy Competition Little Susan begged her Nana for the beautiful doll she saw in the window of the small store at the edge of town. At first her Nana said no, but on Christmas Eve Nana could not resist journeying back to the little shop for the doll.. Susan had wanted it ever so badly. And now the doll it sits under the tree waiting for Christmas morning…
There are so many senseless things in the world…
1st Entry for Pulp Noir Challenge 2 – Vice Versa Based off of the character portrayed in Killer Silk, a story by jcmontgomery. This temptress lives her life on the edge. Sex, drugs, fast money…all that Jazz. And don’t try to do her in. She may be a sexy vixen but she’s smart enough to do you in first. Hence the piece in her left hand…
This a drawing I did of my kitty, Misty 28.05.06 using soft pastels on a3 paper.
Painted this today, 10.02.2009. This is part one of a two parter collection. I painted this, then painted part two over it. Part two titled, In the Midst of Love – The End I used watercolour on double thick canvas 12×12 In the Midst of Love – The End
This is one of over 200 exposures made on December 23 2007 at Kensal Green Cemetery in North West London. There was a very thick fog that had closed the airports and brought much of the UK to a standstill. It seemed obvious then that I should go and shoot some images in the cemetery which is about 300 yards from my front door. Interestingly, Kensal Green Cemetery is said to be one of the earliest “modern” Cemeteries, dating from the mid 1800s. Cemeteries all around the world based their design on that of Kensal Green. Part of the intention was to integrate the cemetery with its natural park-like surroundings, a place where death nurtures nature. Having been shot with a rather ancient Canon 10D at ISO 400, this image is slightly ‘noisy’, but think it adds to the ambience. Canon 10D / Canon 28-200mm @28mm / 1/90sec @f11 / ISO400 Tweaked in Lightroom – desaturated a bit, colour temp lowered slightly, contrast enhanced a tad.
The only time money is beautiful is when it’s in front of a lens. - No manipulation except a crop
“The Darkness comes from within…” When I’m down it feels like this horrible darkness is seeping from my gut and engulfing me. It makes everything harder to deal with and it can even make it hard to see or concentrate on anything. I always wish that someone could help me in those times… One day I sat down and drew that feeling. Mixed media on acidfree paper + Photoshopped onto old paper I worked ‘til I was done.
Twilight dreams with morning breath; that is, one’s that are twisted and scared to death, but, hopeful all the same Fractured fairies whisk from here to there, on broken wings / which beat to the tune of my heart at sight of your name One single touch, petal soft, could break my bones, shatter / nerves, suck the life from my brain, and turn me into fool From a distance, I kneel and wait, in reverance for the man / who glimmers there in the dark setting, my darling jewel

Standing above the village of Talisker, you get a tremendous view to the beautiful Cuillin mountains. / I got very lucky with the light here, on a day when the / sun and clouds were playing cat and mouse. Towards evening, the sun broke through long enough to capture the light falling on the village of Merkadale below. / Talisker is famous for the distillery where many visitors go to taste the Malt Whisky. / I confess to being a heathen…....I prefer a nice Cabernet Sauvignon !! Shot on my Canon EOS 50D, on tripod, polarising filter, iso 100, cloudy wb, f16, 1/25sec, – 1 exposure compensation to retain that dark moody sky, canon 17-85mm IS lens set at 85mm, RAW file processed in Camera Raw, then levels/curves/ selective colour/ in CS3. / Sharpened with Intellisharpen.
