Another gorgeous sunrise at the Wye River, just off the Great Ocean Road, Victoria Australia. Still mucking around with HDR, but I’m starting to lose interest. This image was created with about 9 exposures or something silly like that which took ages to generate and then I crammed all the contrast back in that HDR took out with layers and blending and whatnot … sorta a bit of a long way around to get there …

I have never been an insect fan, but I must admit I had quite a pleasure shooting some this summer. I had the chance to observe this insect for a long time. The clouds and the mist were constantly changing, I was playing hide-and-seek with the sun until I captured this right moment where the sun reflexion was perfect: sharp and attenuated. This is a stitch of two images.

When these two little girls scurried past me , deep in conversation, oblivious to everything, and loosely clutching a couple of balloons I just quickly sketched them. Most of it is from memory because they were gone in a flash, but I could see their red balloons floating far in the distance. Watercolour on paper (125lb) 12×16

on the Lac Pouvreau, having spent a few hot hours taking a walk around this rather large (man made lake), we dined and then waited until just about 9pm for the sun to start setting…..the lake is wonderful and the whole area is made up of huge rocks in the water and around the water….. there is also the remains of a Don Jon. And one of my first freshewater Sunsets – have a few sunsrises but not had the opportunity for a sunset since visiting Florida way back on the old film P&S so a lovely finish to a long hot day! Placed 10th in Sunset on a Lake Challenge in Lakes and inland waterways group August ‘09 / Canon G10
