ARTIST STATEMENT for Light, Time & Facade Exhibition My response to Light, Time and Facade has been to discern and depict metaphorically, multifaceted aspects of one’s being in both mind and matter or existence and universe. The vessel (symbol for being) in light and time, absorbs, reflects, refracts and transmits information to and from the surfaces around. “Reality is a game of illusion, delusion, perception and deception … The trickster (an archetype, a boundary dweller) exists to question, to cause us to question and not accept things blindly.” (Quote by Ellie Crystal). In the light of spirit I reflect that the boundaries that separate us are not as real as they appear, that our personal distinctions are illusory and that we are connected with all in the sea of universal consciousness, a fusion, a melting point. ................................ / ................................

The High Level Bridge in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada spanning across the North Saskatewan River in the winter of 2008. Originally shot in color then converted to black and white. I applied a slight Orton effect after pushing the raw settings to expose a little more of the dynamic range.

Inca ruins at Saqsaywaman, Peru, located near the city of Cusco. Merged 2-layer composite of separate Fractalius effects, one for the sketch like ruins which I find works well for geometric shapes like the stone bricks, and another to soften up the clouds.

There’s smehing about the shape of a breas as it hits the cleavage that brings out some core emotion. Here is the most beautiful cloaking of a woman’s heart, the symbol of childhood comfort and fulfillment. It longs to be touched, to be caressed, to be seen as part of a whole being. Yet first, it is simply beauty revealed. This was shot in low light and hasn’t had any digital alterations. / Photographer: Me / Model: The lovely Curvaceous Dee
