I have imagined that when leaves age they gather together in a place called the Senior Gardens. I have other photographs of white flowers with definite facial expressions that reflect the various emotions of the elderly. There are many Senior Gardens from Los Angeles to Miami to the countryside of France and many other countries inhabited by people who respect the elderly in all forms. As I have often stated, it is a sad fact that many families do not appreciate the wisdom and importance of their elderly parents and often cast them away to live in nursing homes, rather than embrace them in the warmth of their family home. They often die a lonely death without the care and respect they deserve after a lifetime of devotion to their children and grandchildren. Those that are fortunate live in residential settings with peers that is often preferable for many who are still lively and functional and are able to participate in an active social life with their friends. My fantasy of Senior Gardens is much like Leisure World where the residents enjoy socializing with each other, especially after losing their husband or wife and enjoying the company of other ladies and gentleman their own age. This fellow looks depressed and I believe is a new resident of Senior Gardens and most likely will feel much better after meeting some of the lovely lady leaves that are also in my portfolio. I am happy to let you know that Daisy Rose and Lily Buttercup recently got married to some lovely seniors in the Rose Garden where most major events take place. I will keep you updated on new activities and especially love matches that are common occurances in these lovely garden settings. The new resident I photographed will be introduced to many lady leaves at the invitation only event for new residents at Senior Gardens. I am hopeful that this charming sad gentleman will find life very pleasant in his new home, especially after the recent passing of his temperamental wife, Snap Dragon. She was know as very jealous of some of the more lovely ladies often threatening to snap at anyone who she felt her husband found attractive. You can get the full effect of his sad eyes by looking at them in the larger format. He was very cooperative when I asked him if I could take his photograph despite his dysphoric mood. /

I leave it to your discretion to sort out the emotions, social interactions, etc. at play. I could see about a dozen different things it could be empicturing, some of which I would never draw, in fact. Maybe they are social rivals having shown up at a party wearing the same dress. / Maybe they are sisters being forced to make peace. / Maybe they are old friends at a school reunion. Who knows? Maybe they do.

like this, only with the right words I just watched a movie, that I do not know the name of. It was made in 1953, and, wow.. it would so knock the eyes right out of ever so many prudes who worry about the R rated movies now. Oh no, there wasn’t any cussing; and there wasn’t too much blood. Nor was there any nudity, not so much as untoward cleavage. The story started with a woman on a subway, very intimate close quarters suggested for all. A man approaches her, and they give each other looks that would inspire many finer minded prostitutes to blush, upon receiving Far too erotic, were those glances, for a mere X-rated film, I can tell you. Then there was some stuff about stealing things, the police tryilng to find them, etc. All wrapped around various encounters between the two persons who met on the subway. During this movie, sexual assault occurred, as well as physical assault, murder, espionage, and police brutality. Strangely, your children would legally be allowed to walk right into a theatre and view this movie. Yet, if a nude guru made a film of himself reading Kahil Gabrahn (sp?) they wouldn’t be allowed in to see it. It’s so much more important, you see, that a child never see nudity, even when it’s completely non-sexual, that they’d rather a child see that it’s okay to beat your ex-girlfriend up for losing your microfilm by which you hoped to make money whilst committing treason against your country. Mmm. . the values taught! Anyway, the woman was really beaten rather badly. It was shocking. Not just because of it being in the movie, mind, but, because the actress was banging around, getting her head knocked into things, and I’m not quite sure how she survived the role! Which brings us to women, bleeding, and, of course, this digital painting, which is actually a variation on other digital paintings which came to Red Bubble long before it. Well, long as in over a week ago, definitely! lol I wasn’t planning to make a painting depicting an abused woman. But, as it started shaping up, I saw what looked like a hint of misery, a spot of blood, and in pops the song to my mind, where it slithered about and demanded I pay attention to it.

An oil pastel drawing montage in the poster style mindful of Art Nouveau and Art Deco and recent Retro trends by way of revival from the old. / At first the drawing was an exercise exploring form and colour but on screen it reminded me of old gramophone speakers sending messages in different directions. The spin on events, the messages flying out across the international stage become important. Australia Day (26th January) used to be called Empire Day and so it should remain because that is exactly what it was, a celebration for England and Empire in the acquisition of land. How it has become known as Australia Day is a mystery and an insult to indigenous Australians. The wrong message has spun out of control. / This is my nouveau poster style worked and composited in Photoshop. My philosophy by intent remains Remodernist as a painter and traditional fine artist experimenting in the digital medium using my own work for composites.

I was talking to a colleague about the effect of Facebk and was reminded of the ‘flipside’ that often comes from fast paced, socially addictive ‘things’... Bit like Redbubble perhaps? The ‘feck’ interplay comes from the character ‘Father Jack Hackett’ (Father Ted tv series)... ‘GIRLS! DRINK! FECK OFF… ’ etc etc Font was created using a base font and modifying to mimic the original feckbook I mean facebk font… Yes I KNOW facebook is a wonderful networking tool… ‘Rant’ off. Note: I know I had already lodged this on some sites but had to redo it due to the ‘black rectangle of death’ which now thankfully RB has sorted.
