The bushfires a cuople of years ago in Victoria’s alps have left a lot of gnarled burnt out snowgum stumps but there are shoots slowly starting out again. This is on Mount Hotham, close to JB Plain. Any commission from sales of this image is donated to the Phoenix appeal for the current Victorian bushfire fund.

Gippsland in Victoria’s south east is one of the most diverse regions in Australia. Located just 10kms south of Mount Hotham, Dinner Plain offers visitors the best of summer and winter worlds! We enjoyed this magical sunset in December 2009 from our wonderful chalet, and this image was stitched using 4 images from a Canon EOS450D and Arcsoft Panorama Maker.
