It was a freezing day while River and I were in the nature park. The trees looked cold but stood tall and strong. This is the same image as the first “Winter Blues” after Gigi told me that I should try a darker color for it. So it qualifies as my third try on this “effect thing” thanks to all the instructions and guidance from my “mentor” on this matter! I guess one could say that I love anything that has to do with nature including the living beings, the woods, the trees, the rivers and streams, and the mountains…. In a way, the trees represent longevity even though my “rational mind” knows they don’t live forever – my “passion” towards the trees is in its “illusion” of the ever lasting life, or perhaps what it always gives back to the earth in living or in death. :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada.

Yule / Winter Solstice Yule is the Celtic Festival of the birth of the sun. Winter Solstice is the shortest day and the longest night, but from this day forward the light will grow rather than diminish and the year turns once again towards the Waxing half of the year. In the darkest of nights there is still the silver star of hope and a promise of regeneration. The traditiona of bringing in the Holly,Ivy and Mistletoe at this time of the year is to symbolise that although the land looks cold and dead, life still persisits and the green of Spring and Summer will come again with the stregnthening of the Sun.

its one of our babies….......cozen in the blanket and looking out, she is so precious we love her so, she has the most beautiful pups and had three last time and one died the real big first one….......total White, then she had one other white one we sold it, its name was Uke-——ca-Niuqe, the young man keept the name said he wouldnt change it….....enjoy the baby girl….she will be having babes this year her second litter now…....i cant wait… She was 8 years old yesterday…07/26/2009 she died, my baby girl is gone…she was so beautiful and sweet..

Decided to give winter holidays greeting cards a try this year :) It appeared that it’s so fun to make them and also they bring some holiday mood to my home… We go to Ukraine to visit our parents and friends on winter holidays, so I kind of excited and can’t wait already ;) / I’ve also set up a little winter holidays shop over at zazzle . it’s this time of the year again, Christmas is around. People are hectic and busy buying presents, some are relaxed and enjoy a cup of mulled wine. altogether it’s a special time of the year, with the streets being decorated and the mountains full of snow. city center Innsbruck, with the Nordkette mountains in the back..

A New Years Sunrise While not a sunrise in the traditional sense of the word, but it sure seemed to be with the sun hiding behind the clouds, back lighting and glowing everything around me in a colorful haze in Moraine Park inside Rocky Mountain National Park. It was nothing but stunning! Quite the way to start and kick off the New Years I think! Processed in Photomatix HDR with 3 RAW files, then output through PSP 10, , shot on my 5D and Minolta 18-200 DT using a Singh-Ray CPL, and then hiding behind the car to shield myself from 80 MPH wind gusts lol The crazy thing is, the haze in the background, is actually from the snow that was falling and whipping around. Despite this being a listed monument, made made and part of the image of York in spring when surrounded by daffodils, it is really maddening to see people ignoring all the signs telling them to keep off the bank. The worst is parents sending their kids up there. This is Clifford’s Tower, otherwise known as “The eye of York”, with the winter sun on one side and another snow fall behind it.
