The stillness of our warmth / two / together / our love is rooted deep
Sometimes we are lucky to bear witness to some of life’s golden moments; A baby’s first steps, a proposal, a reuninon between friends… or a child’s first touch of snow. This was their moment – hopefully one of many. And I was lucky enough to be at the right place, at the right time, to capture that moment. Lady luck must’ve smiled to me on that day.

A thousand Yellowstone wonders are calling, ‘Look up and down and round about you! John Muir – 1898 The temperatures were in the single digits on this cold, snowy January morning at West Thumb Geyser Basin, which is one of the smallest geyser basins in Yellowstone. A incredibly scenic area along the shore of Yellowstone Lake, West Thumb only has a small amount of geyser activity. However, the basin more than makes up for it with its diversity. Despite its small size, it has paint/mud pots, hot springs, pools, lake shore geysers, and fumaroles. Fumaroles are small openings that release steam and other gasses. You can see in the foreground the muddy, soupy waters inundating the paint pots. The white area beyond the tree line in the right hand side of the photograph is Yellowstone Lake. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Please don’t copy or download this image. We have snow this winter: it’s great! It’s not a huge amount of snow but it does the job to take great snowy pictures. It sucked that I had exams that week.

I travel on this road 5 days a week as I head to & from work. On this morning the lighting was so good I stopped several times to take snaps. This is one of the snaps taken that morning. Thought I’d share it with everyone here in Redbubble Land. / This one is a small thank you to everyone who has stopped by & viewed my work. Also thanks to everyone who has left me a kind comment; sorry if I have not got back to you all. / Best wishes & kind regards to everyone over the festive period & beyond. Peace to you all. / /
Oklahoma City has had snow now for two days. Our pasture was pristine and white and still. I went out in it to recreate a classic snow scene, as people here have endured for generations. But then, the crunchy sounds under foot, the soft snow -I could not resits a little dash through the snow! Yes – I froze – it was 18 degrees! My camera became so cold, it froze as well! BUT it was FUN! This photos is straight from the camera, as is, like all of my work.
Oh, how silly horses can be. They have hay and a barn but they choose to be out in the snow. I love the snow flying in this shot. It was cold but worth it I think.
