Scenario an hour or so ago:read the poem..loved it….went outside to garden a bit…had a brain wave…ran in…got a brush and a pan of solid colour…a little later a finished sketch…a half hour all told... / do you feel that it’s the flower talking?...it sounds like a plea from a lost soul until you read it again…but it can be from a person, a woman, a man?...read it again.... I just wanted to share this harbinger of spring and the poem with you….will post it later on…maybe… Do you know what I was, how I lived? You know / what despair is; then / winter should have meaning for you. I did not expect to survive, / earth suppressing me. I didn’t expect / to waken again, to feel / in damp earth my body / able to respond again, remembering / after so long how to open again / in the cold light / of earliest spring afraid, yes, but among you again / crying yes risk joy in the raw wind of the new world...Louise Gluck..Snowdrop

Well I’m excited. =D Going to reaffirm the date, I come to realise that I shall be at school with the kiddies that Saturday! =O / Sometimes I think I’m truly mad, especially since my home-school journey leaves little to be desired – but it’s worth it ^ Also in that discovery, I feel rather inspired! Methinks I’ll be taking the long bus home to whip out my trusty pencils (probably HB, I’m truly hopeless sometimes…!), home in time for a RedBubble debut! / I did say I do drawings but the more I improve, the more recognisable each face becomes! Not good if ye doesn’t want to be recognised! ;P / So for the time being, unless I become less precious about my proper paintings and/or draw something less likely to get me locked up and/or my drawing style hasn’t changed one jot after about three years – then I doubt I’ll be a-showing you much from what currently exsists! Still, I should probably get a touch of practice in. My best pictures still usually result from a rather wide ranging collection of references – just observed to see clothing folds or angles for arms, or what can actually be seen in certain poses. It takes so long but it’s delciously rewarding =D Of course, little happens if being “precious” (as my art teacher would say,) is in considerable amounts. And in artists, (incurable perfectionists!) it usually is considerable! A chief difficulty in trying anything new: mixed media for example. When halfway through a perfectly good pencil drawing that would look fine just completed the way it started, why risk ruining what might be hours work, say, by adding to it in charcoal? Well it might look better of course – but who’s to say? Where am I going with this? ... No idea. Perhaps the point is…Experimentation! In which case, I’m off now to see whether hanging upside down from a swing whilst reading a Biology textbook causes me to revise better! – Wheeeeee! =P xxx P.S. BY THE WAY! Thanks so much to Sony Shooters for featuring “Snowdrops I” on the 25th May!!! ^

I wanted to share with all my friends on here this wonderful gesture that has surprised me so much from a wonderful friend I have… Morag Bates and her gorgeous pet Maltese Snowdrop. I opened up my page this morning and discovered that Morag has dedicated a photo to me. I have to say this is the first time anyone has ever done this for me in my entire life. I am kind of speechless and this kind gesture Morag has done brought me to tears of joy. I will never forget this, this is real special to me and I would like to urge you all… my friends to have a look at Morag’s site here as her photography is stunning and you will meet her adorable little treasure “Snowdrop” her Maltese dog. It is people like Morag and my friends I have here that make life a pleasure, and to have woken up this morning to see this beautiful photo of Snowdrop who I adore…dedicated to me, is truly overwhelming. Thank you to everyone here that have become so important to me, and Morag…you are such a wonderful friend and always will be. You will find the photo that Morag did in the group that I host along with the very talented Michael Rowley in “The World Of Maltese Shitzu’s”, and of course on Morag Bates own site here on redbubble. Warmest regards to everyone…Janine.
