A different perspective on the world. Also a nice seasonal picture. It’s a picture of glass globes that have been hanging in the front window at home and I took the picture through them into the winter wonderland outside. It’s not a recent picture, it was taken two, maybe three winters ago. Thought I’d put it up and let it get some exposure! I’m really happy with how it turned out! I hope you enjoy this piece. Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F22, ISO100, shutter speed 0.5 to 1/125 seconds, edited in Photomatix tweaked in Photoshop Sorry about the lack of sharpness, this was hand held in a gale force wind!! Conistone, which it is said means ‘farmstead of cows’ or ‘Kings Manor’ is a charming and quiet village hidden away from the main road to the east of Wharfedale. It was mentioned in the Domesday book as Cunestune. Conistone Dib is a narrow gorge, which was created by post-glacial floodwater, and leads upwards from the village green, through Gurling Trough, to an area of spectacular limestone scenery.
Well been away from RB for a week but will catch up with all the work I’ve missed from you all. I took this shot last night and got frost nip in the process, so my finger tips all felt like they had been smashed with a hammer, can still feel it a bit today, I’ve already been told off for not wearing gloves ;-) / It was really beautiful and worth a little pain. Taken on Mt Wellington facing west to distant mountain ranges.

Yet another black and white from my book “Snow Man is My Friend.” I post it only because I haven’t had time lately (and have been much to lazy) to do anything new. Still, it’s a pretty nice little drawing, no?
Peebles nestled yesterday in the scottish border hills with a full covering of frosting under blue skies – beautiful! (30/11/08) I loved the foreground grasses as much as the magical view ahead they were so deliciously crunchy underfoot… comments welcome as ever! / cheers / ding / ;))))) See also spires Taken with my new:))))) Nikon d60 and tripod / Nikkor 18-200 lens / f/20 / 1/30 sec / ISO-100 / focal length 62mm Try viewing large… ;))

This photo was taken looking Due west from Mt.Higginbotham at Mt.Hotham resort just as a storm was coming in. Fresh snow had recently fallen so it was a real winter wonderland! / / This shot was taken not far from, and about 30 minutes before this panorama . / Browse Images by Category : Snow Landscape Nature

The aspens are just as beautiful in Winter as in any other season. The white snow and white aspens against that beautiful morning blue sky, with the shadows from the trees Just spoke to me when I looked up and saw them. When I took this it became one of my most popular pictures at that time. I had it printed in a pearl metallic as a Christmas gift, and received two orders for it after it was seen. It was taken with a KODAK EASY SHARE point and shoot. I sometimes take a smaller camera when we go snowmobiling, and it was the first digital my husband bought me. This was taken near Rexburg, Id. on our last snowmobile trip for the season, it was taken in March. It is a as is shot. I sold two 11×14 prints of this shot, which I signed and numbered. It is an as is shot.
On the drive home from Barnard Castle today I stopped at the side of the road and walked down the field to photograph the old disused Langleydale railway viaduct in the snow (as you do!). As I was returning to the car – I spotted the two rickety gates silhouetted against the snow and the winter sunset. The bird is a little added extra – a photoshop brush kind courtesy of WyckedBrush of Deviant Art. /

Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F16, shutter speed 1/60, ISO100, tweaked in Photoshop Just had a quick look through my archive shots. This photo was taken on the 7th February this year during several weeks of cold weather. We went out walking near the wonderful Yorkshire village of Conistone, in the places the snow was over 3 feet deep, great fun but very tiriing to walk in. The shot was taken just before sunset which in February was around 4’ish! I know summer has just started but it will soon be Christmas ;) Please view large!

It’s a picture of glass globes that have been hanging in the front window at home and I took the picture through them into the winter wonderland outside. I’m really happy with how it turned out! This is a re-submission of the original as I’ve edited this picture to include the words “Merry Christmas” to make it a more attractive (possibly?) greeting card :) I can change the text to anything else, so if you’re interested in some other text like “Season’s Greetings” or “Happy Holidays” or “Happy New Year” I can do that. Just let me know and I”ll be happy to oblige! :D I hope you enjoy this piece. Any and all comments welcomed and appreciated! Here’s yet another illustration from “Snow Man Is My Friend.” More than any of the others, I think this is the one that scared away publishers. Pretty straight-forward stuff. No trees, now cute snow man, no metaphor, it is what it is. I like it. I think it’s solid, but it certainly isn’t your average picture book illustration.
Mountains, just blue mountains! Reaching to the horizon… This is a landscape of my dreams! View from Jungfraujoch, Bernese Oberland, Switzerland. Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn World Natural Heritage . July 2008. Canon EOS 300X, Sigma 28-135. Post-processing: retouch (the negative was unfortunately heavily scratched), tonality adjustment, warming filter, distortion correction, watercolor, sharpening.
Cropped from a larger image so this is only suitable for cards. This was shot from my Sister’s front yard in Sisters, Oregon; the mountains are The Three Sisters; can you just imagine waking up to this everyday of your life? I could live with that….....
Taken at Oka Provincial Park, Quebec CANADA on Saturday November 29/08, just about an 1/2 hour before sunset when the sun casts that special glow on the landscape. The cement square in the foreground is the support for a bench that has been removed for winter storage. Nikon D40, 18-55mm lens
