  • Water feature in Toowoomba, Queensland.

  • The old red gums in silhouette at sunset. Lake Bonney, South Australia

  • Reflections off the salt pans. St Kilda, South Australia.

  • I was traveling each day between Albury and my son’s farm at Wymah, while attending APSCON, and noticed this little chapel erected in memory of the pioneers. Anyway I could not resist the temptation for a couple of shots when the rain clouds followed me up the highway. The purple is my favourite flower…..... NOT! We call it “Salvation Jane”, most call it correctly – Paterson’s Curse. The chapel is just short of a place called Bowna, NSW, Australia

  • Sunset at Bowna, NSW, Australia

  • ... Hallett Cove, South Australia. Having just purchased a new reverse grad filter, I was very pleased with this rendition of the coastline at sunset.

  • Unsure Miss / Loving Dad / Stolen Kiss

  • The wetlands at Albury, NSW.

  • I tried a different temperature in the raw conversion. Port Willunga, South Australia

  • The remnants of the old jetty, Port Willunga, South Australia. I played a little with the colour temperature in the raw conversion to get the “summer blue” —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- The Rock & the Sunset: —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-

  • Tidal:

  • Port Willunga, SA

  • The Murray River at Walkers Flat, South Australia

  • I uploaded a couple of images a little while ago. They were “OK” but neither had the impact I was looking for so I combined them with a little texture etc. A different feel from the originals, I think??

  • Victor Harbour, South Australia.

  • Our friend Andy. /

  • A crisp July morning, Clare Valley, South Australia As Night Steals Away / Words by Jan Stead As night steals away / and dawn slowly creeps / to take its place / the world is still, silent, / breath-holding and waiting / for the sun to show its face.

  • A montage: two portraits, an image of a headstone and textured image. Created by using layers and layer masks of differing opacity and playing with the blending mode of each layer as I go. Trying to get the relationship of the young lady to the older man to the gravestone in context seemed the hardest for me.

  • a Tassie sunrise. Shearwater, Tasmania

  • A montage of three images. A shop window in Launceston, a portrait of a very talented busker at the Salamanca Markets in Hobart, Tasmania and an image of pealing paint on a brick wall, also shot in Launceston. Layer 1: / using a layer masks in photoshop I carefully cut away all the background from the violin player and allowed some of the texture from the second layer through in the bottom left corner. Layer 2: / The textured wall with a layer mask applied to let the violins from below show through. Layer 3: / The row of violins in a shop window. I used a layer mast to remove any unwanted distraction. Lucis Art was used to “lift” and give the violins some dimension. Each layer is adjusted by levels and curves with a little USM as seen fit. This is what the original images looked like:

  • The Steam Ranger 621 at Mount Barker station, South Australia.
