another photog friend and i, had the wonderful opportunity of being the only two around, while this cub was going from tree to tree looking for food, shot this early thursday morning, so awesome to be around these animals
winter of 2005/2006, river in the great smoky mountains, was a great snow that year, this is a color shot, not black and white :)
mama bear was crossing road, two bicyclers had passed earlier, so i thought a pretty cool shot of her crossing w/ them in background

thanks to a tree going across a river in the great smoky mountains these two small falls were created / the river itself isnt really that wide / and the moss on the river rocks, just breathtaking as the sun shone down on a select few
this was taken off sparks lane in cades cove, located in the great smoky mountains. sparks lane is my favorite road to go down when im in the cove. the past few months the lane was closed due to a freak spring that came up in the middle of it. / on this day, it was tripod city, so many photogs had just stopped at the gate that blocked the road, and shot from there. guess they didnt realize the true gem right down the road across the creek, something well worth walking thru to get to the other side. / after dodging their cameras walking in the field to get down the road. this is the reward i got after i crossed that creek
sunbeams piercing through the trees in Cades Cove.
cades cove in the great smoky mountains is notorious for the black bears. i am happy to say, this year has been an excellent year for viewing them. they have had food, and the park hasnt moved them out like they were caught doing last year. / yesterday morning shooting in the cove, i am upon a mama bear and her two cubs feeding in a cherry tree / this mama was after a particular branch, and she went up and down for it, finally chewing it off. / best if viewed larger
I caught the sun through the smoke clouds of a forest fire, thought it was rather nice reflected on the water.. taken at Winteringham Lake in NE Sask,Canada, / /
Early mourning is so calming and peaceful. The fog that has shrouded the landscape is slowly lifting. Nature seems to be in slow motion and hush. Sit and enjoy what God has gave you. Let nature enfold completely, your whole being, completely covering you with its serenity……..Cades Cove GSMNP
Down, but not out. Life’s referee is standing over you giving you the 10-count, as you fight so desperately to climb back to your feet, sometimes you feel that letting go might be easier than holding on. Don’t do it! Find your ‘rope’ and pull yourself back up and live to fight another ‘season’ of life. /

morning fog in cades cove, great smoky mountains.
This was taken in Cades Cove, in the great Smoky Mountains, this was the setting of Dan Lawsons home, such a beautiful and peaceful place, the deer were roaming around just feet from us, they aren’t hunted so they are not scared of us what so ever..to see this sort of place, unspoiled..Mother Nature at its finest..was just so amazing. Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm Vr Lens /
how far can you walk into the forest? half way, because then you’ll be walking out…hehe next time you are in the forest, stop and smell the trees (editor’s note: I’m working on a scratch & sniff program for the bubble) shot in Cades Cove, Smoky Mountain National Park /

Mama bear and her cubs had been run up a tree by a very aggressive male. I wish I had got a shot of him but was movin to quick for the low light in the woods. The bear seemed more abundant in the Cove this year. Bears are wild animals and should be treated with respect. The large male wasn’t too tolerable of anything, and could have attacked at any moment. You may see a dozen bears in the Cove that pay you no mind, but it just takes one like the aggressive male to kill you. The day I made this I had seen 11 different bear….Black Bear, ursus americanus… ….Shot was taken in Cades Cove area of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park
This was the view from my campsite on my recent trip to North Carolina. Sheer beauty. / PP in PSE 7 brushes/oil painting effect / Thanks for looking
