Part Of my 2:14am Series Self Portrait It was 2:14am, I was on my way home but Had a slight craving for a smoke, I didn’t want to go home and waste the Amazing Misty night we were having so I went to the park round the corner. I don’t sleep so I stayed there for an hour or so, 20minutes of taking shots, 40 of just sitting, thinking. This was just before I was deep in my thoughts. / The orange lamps on the path crossed with insane mist is a perfect combo. Featured in / Young Enthusiasts / Lifeline Nikon D90

When I start to create a digital abstract, I never really know what it’s going to end up like; sometimes something comes out of the background to overshadow what I’ve been preparing as the main focus of the piece. / / As in this image, when I realized that the backdrop was way more interesting than the design in front, / I was tempted to ditch the design and let the background stand on its own. But it looked more interesting with the design layer faded into near oblivion, giving the digital smoke something to react against. / / Was going to title the piece Digital Smoke, but thought that was somewhat unimaginative; I wanted to recognize a perceived aura of the aurora borealis. And I like alliteration. / / As always, I am ecstatic when a piece fits nicely onto a card with minimal cropping damage

This tree was sitting by itself and caught my eye because it was so stark. This was at the civil war reinactment and there was smoke everywhere so I liked this tree. People never gave it a second glance but I just had to shoot it.

This is part of my Union Creek Prescribed Burn series. It looked to me as if the forest angels were keeping an eye on these small fires to make sure that they didn’t get out of control! The rays of light appear to land just where the fires are burning. / /

A station that time has mostly forgotten all about stands waiting for a time that may never come. These old buildings and rails remember an era where hundreds of happy faces passed through here on their way home or on their holidays: They dream of a time long since passed. The Summer sky presents its amber glow to the station and casts its pigment all over the scene, highlighting the old charm of the woodwork and enhancing the shaddows. There is a romantic stillness captured within this scene. It is easy for us to imagine a crowd of people gathered waiting on a station that looks imaculate and yet, we can also see that this truly is the End of the Line.
