  • At last I got a chance to go hunting for some run down old buildings around Melbourne. With the help of the lovely Animo , a day of appalling weather and a lot of luck, we came across this place. Even managed to stumble across some local ‘artists’ who were kindly decorating another part of the building with their own special variety of artwork. Only a few shots taken today, but I’ll be back when the weather is better to get some outdoor shots…

  • Iconic imagery is one thing that so many people, no matter what generation, race or origin can recognize at first glance.

  • A glass full of wine smashes onto a slab of marble. Shot with a high speed, sound activated flash trigger.

  • An old Holden left for dead in Marysville, Victoria, Australia. Found it with all its windows smashed in and covered in Graffiti. HDR done in Photomatix, converted to black and white in Adobe Lightroom. Sales 8 Greeting Cards On Saturday the 7th of February my family lost our home away from home at Marysville, as well as our two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and our Abyssinian cat. My condolences go to anyone who also lost family, friends or property on this terrible weekend, and I know deep down that Marysville will be back and better than ever, in the near future… Click here for my other photos of cars! • My second piece of full on digital art, EVER. I personally feel I have improved since my first piece, “Elf”, and I hope to keep on improving. This one was a bit easier to do as I had my drawing tablet throughout the whole process. Whereas with “Elf” half of her was done with the mouse, and the other half with the drawing tablet. The following poem was written by my little sister EssEll , an artist of words, especially for this artwork. She has combined, twisted and rewritten old children’s Nursery Rhymes to have such an awesome effect. ENJOY! Scratched, Smashed, Broken and Damaged A broken bird watched from an oak / The more she saw the less she spoke / The less she spoke the more she heard / No one loves a broken bird But everyone loves a story Eeper Weeper, chimney sweeper / Had a wife, could barely keep her / They had a bub he didn’t love / So up the chimney bub was shoved Eeper Weeper, wheat and rye / Kissed the bub to make her cry / Kept the wife out of the way / So bub and he could gently play Hush little baby, still your mind / Mama has found a place Eeper won’t find / You find the poison, I’ll find the rope / And we’ll sail to Heaven in a little row boat Eeper Weeper, my dear Reaper / Come close and I go deeper / Choose a weapon, fist or word / No one loves a broken bird But broken wings can mend © 2008 Stack(’s Sister)

  • Whilst standing up here this evening I had to ask myself.. is this the safe thing to do? But then I thought, if we never took risks then that would be a boring way to live. This one was taken from the same spot as a couple of my other Portsea images but at a different time and day. My original intention was to get a good sunset around the eastern side of the London Bridge but the tide was a lot higher than I expected so I climbed back up to this spot instead and it was definitely worth it :) I had to put the ISO up a fair bit to keep the exposure time down as it was almost dark. Luckily I can get away with it with this camera, the picture would be a lot grainier had I used my 40D. The London Bridge is located on the ocean side of Portsea in the Mornington Peninsula National Park, Victoria, Australia. It’s only a short walk down to this spot from the car park. / Settings Canon 5D, 17-40mm f4 L USM.
