Lake Bohinj, Slovenia. I shouldn’t really advertise it because one of the delights of this place is that it’s not too crowded… Available for sale as: / Laminated Prints, Cards, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints and Framed Prints
These are the Julian Alps in Slovenia, so named for Julius Caesar. Photo was taken while hiking in these beautiful mountains. Just as we were going into a forest I looked back. And this is what I saw. / . / This is a handheld one-shot HDR post-processed image. A stylised view of St Ana’s Church, Magozd in Slovenia; my favorite church anywhere, home or away. Its setting is idyllic and this defiant little church, which has survived colossal battles (the Isonzo Front ran right through here) and earthquakes which wrecked nearby villages, has a dreamlike quality to it which I haven’t found elsewhere.
Picture was taken in early december in the late afternoon with my Sony Alpha 100, lens 16-105mm. Edited in Photomatix and a little Photoshop. / It shows the north view from Limbarska gora in Slovenia.
Some rust detail on panelling of a haybarn in Slovenia. I love the rich colours and detail in this – beauty can be found in the most humble places.

Another one of Drežnica, Slovenia. After a brief flirtation with light, its a welcome return to darkness again.
This shot was taken at Lake Bled, Slovenia. This was taken in Spring despite the autumnal colours. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera.
I made a few pictures of tis waterfall but I cant capture the essence and beauty of it. This time I was so lucky that I found some white mushrooms under it and it was a must to include those in the final composition. I waited almost an hour in a very humid environment to get the best lightning. In the end I am still pretty unsure if I did some justice to this beautiful place. This is the natural island in the middle of Lake Bled in Slovenia. The island has several buildings, the main one being the Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary, built in the 15th century, where weddings are held regularly. The church has a 52-metre tower and there is a stairway with 99 steps leading up to the building. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera.
This image is made from 16 vertical shots and assembled in Hugin. the main subject is the largest single arched stone bridge in the world located in Solkan, Slovenia, Europe. I spent almost 3 hours to make it.
Probably the most photographed part of Slovenia. Lake Bled with its island and church are famous for their fairy-tale beauty. The present Church of the Assumption was built in the 17th century and the vicarage a hundred years later. But there are vestiges that date much earlier. That day we wanted to walk round this natural lake, a leisurely walk of some 6 hours. It was beautiful scenes all the way. I must have taken more than 200 photos on that hike alone. / . / Nikon D70 / Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G / Aperture: f/11.0 / Shutter: 1/125 sec / Focal Length: 28mm / ISO: 200 / . /

The beautiful little village of Magozd, Slovenia, seen from Jezerca. A little slice of heaven.
Drežnica Church in Slovenia
Drežnica at dusk. With the light fading fast, the church bells began to ring and the sound echoed throughout the valley… spine-tinglingly beautiful.
