A winter panorama shot of the valley Valldal on the west coast of Norway, taken during the christmas holiday. Stitched together of 15 pictures. Post-processing: / Stitched some pictures together, obviously. Fixed the contrast with curves, added a lighter curve only on the lower part as the valley was pretty dark, and the mountain tops really light. Added two black and white layers set to hard light (140%), mainly on the sky and the mountain tops.

/ Another Sleeping giant at Bali Island Indonesia..A non active volcano.. / A range of towering volcanic mountains divides the island into northern and southern portions. For the Balinese these mountains are the homes of the gods. The range includes four primary sacred mountains: Agung, Batur, Batukao and Abang. Of these, Gunung Agung, Bali’s highest mountain at 10,308 feet (3142 meters), is the most sacred to the island’s Hindus, while Gunung Batur is considered most holy by the aboriginal people living in the remote jungles around Lake Batur. Mt. Agung is the abode of Batara Gunung Agung, also identified as Mahadewa, the supreme manifestation of Shiva. Mt. Batur and Lake Batur are sacred to Dewi Danu, the Goddess of the Lake. Also called Ida Ratu Ayu Dalem Pingit, this goddess is regarded as the provider of irrigation water in the form of bubbling natural springs that issue all over the lower slopes of Mt. Batur. An enormous fresh-water lake of 4240 acres, sacred Lake Batur is considered by farmers and priests to be the ultimate source of the springs and rivers that provide irrigation water for the whole of central Bali. / so that’s a bit of the inside story..I will be posting the other 2 remaining mountain as well next time..till then hope you like this one / cheers Ant / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / Portrait / Architectural / people/culture / Macro / Landscape / Still Life / Animal / Nude/FineArt / SunsetCollection / Flowers / Model Maria Anne / Model Saskia Ying / Model Blondie / Model Tammy / Kids / The Book Of Love —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission. This is an IR shot of Nobby’s Beach in Newcastle, Australia. / / I’m keen to see how many connotations you can all come up with. / / This is the beach where the Pasha Bulker came ashore in a huge storm we had earlier in the year. / / / / / / / / / /
At the outer edge of Melbourne Australia, a lone tree looks out on a beautiful sunset :) Technical Notes: Used 3 exposures in Adobe camera raw, enhanced the already beautiful colour and contrast just slightly. I have seen a few wonderful landscape photographers so I thought I would give give you a great Recommendation Travis Easton’s Photos are MAGNIFICENT!!! Gum tree on a rocky slope in Central Victoria, Australia. Believe it or not, the boulders of this landscape were once hidden beneath lush forest, which was mostly removed in the quest for firewood, and fenceposts, once settlement started to explode—during the Victorian mining boom of the mid-1800s.
This image looks exactly the way it felt to capture it! The moss is real, the camera is upright. The slope extends downward at exactly the same precarious angle for a good few hundred metres, and I was wearing the wrong shoes. This is in Central Victoria, Australia.
I’ve been posting a few nudes etc lately so I thought I start putting up some more of my IR landscapes just for a change. Taken with IR film early one bright summer morning. here is its companion image Songlines framed
really the only type of bush I have time for. a softly swaying glowing little bush growing on the side of a gentle incline somewhere deep inside Sydney Park in you’ll never guess….Sydney! shot in infrared of course.

Western Slopes of Haleakala / Mauka Mists / Gazing out over the isthmus of the island of Maui at sunset. “And upon the stillness of a cloud-filled afternoon, the child asked of the Mystic: “Where is God, the Creator, and how will I endeavor to find the sacredness of His Being?” And the Mystic answered: Once upon a thousand years ago did a man seek the answer to your very question. He searched the mountains for the One called God; But he only saw the green and yellow blanket of distant aspen trees. He walked along the ocean shore, to know the Creator of Life; But all he heard was the rhythmic roar of the tide’s own song. He rode across the prairie, looking to find God at his journey’s end; But all that came to him was the sweet fragrance of the wild flower’s bloom. He reached out for the sky, pleading for a sign of His Presence; But he only felt the vastness and timelessness of the starlit night. Oh foolish man that he was, to search for God with the eyes of his mind; / When He was forever with him, when seen through the eyes of his soul.” ~ Listen close and you shall hear the whispering wind both far and near. Truths revealed while all alone that you might find the way back Home. ~ excerpt from The Prophet’s Candle by Daniel
This shot was taken at Golden Bay in Ghajn Tuffieha, Malta. The ‘Spirit’ was previously shot as part of a sculpture; then cropped, modified and added on in Photoshop. I re-sized and rotated the picture and moved it around till I found its ‘niche’. © Astrid Pardew – Malta 2008
Sunset from the western slopes of Haleakala Maui Hawai`i “Well, I found you in the twilight garden, / Laid a lover’s hand upon your shoulder, / And we both were made aware of loving / Past the reach of reason to unravel, / Or the much desiring heart to follow. There we heard the breath among the grasses / And the gurgle of softly running water, / Well contented with the spacious starlight, / The cool wind’s touch and the deep blue distance, / Till the dawn came in with golden sandals.” Poetry by Sappho Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi / Shooting Date/Time 01 June 2008 20:13:57 / Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/200 / Av( Aperture Value ) 8.0 / ISO Speed 100 / Lens EF28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM / Focal Length 60.0 mm Copyright © Sharon Mau 2009 / All Rights Reserved
Another in my Crape Myrtle series. This is near the base of the tree. Macro, rotated 90 degrees to provide an image of the start of a climb up a fairly barren hill.
