One of the world’s most deadliest snakes – the Coastal Taipan
Be wary of the slithering things called reality serpents. They will shift in and out of worlds and slither all around before you can even catch a glimpse!
Gopher Snake close-up on Figueroa Mountain, Santa Ynez, CA One of the most widespread snakes in North America, its range extends from the Atlantic to the Pacific, as far north as southern Canada, and as far south as Veracruz, Mexico. This species can reach five to six feet in length, and are among the more “human-friendly” species of North American snakes, mainly due to the fact that they are not venomous, hunt vermin (hence the name) and are easily raised and bred in captivity. When startled or angry, they will hiss very loud and rattle their tails. This is why they are sometimes mistaken for a rattlesnake.Habitat: Found in a wide variety of habitats, including deserts, prairies, woodlands, brushlands, coniferous forests, and even cultivated land. Gopher snakes often live in discarded or conquered gopher holes. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- Consider these images as companions. :-)

16×20 colored pencil on grey matboard. Original available. I’m really not crazy about snakes, but they do come in so many colors that it was hard NOT to try. This one was a challenge but – believe it or not – it was so much fun!! Completed 1999

I loved the way this snakes wicked eye gazed at me as I took this shot. The snake had a red spectrum heat lamp above him and it cast an evil red glow that just captivated me. LOVED IT! It had an sinister feeling muaahaahaaha. This snake was the second Green tree python I captured from the Zoo. See the other one here here: http://zenakita.deviantart.com/art/Eye-Ssssee-U-94469274 The name is a play on the Story about the “original Sin” where the snake tempted eve and then adam and eve fell out of favor with God. The Temptation, Fall, and Expulsion from the Garden / / The story that shows the source of human original sin. The serpent tells the woman that she will not die if she eats the fruit of the tree: “When you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So the woman eats, and gives to the man who also eats. “Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons.” The man and woman hide themselves from God, the man blaming the woman for giving him the fruit, and the woman blaming the serpent. God curses the serpent, “upon your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life;” God expels the couple from Eden, for this original sin. “Quote from WIKI: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eve_(Bible) SHOT DETAILS: Saw this beautiful Green tree python a zoo and shot him thru the glass. / Shot in raw Raw edits include: updated sharpness color tone just a bit. Almost there little snail, just a few more slithers to go and you’ve finished the race! Remember, the hare stopped for a sleep under a tree as he thought you would be too slow…. but we all know that… SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE If you view large you will even see the snail’s eye! Thanks x
Between good and evil, light and dark, all those things… symbolic and of course with a red door again hahahah, experimenting yet again lol Note the shadow person trying to come through the top of the door, a bit like a slithering from Harry Potter lol.

I recently looked at a beautiful image by Paul Healey which really made me want to try the idea out for myself [I hope Paul doesn’t mind!]. I chose an older image of myself I took as a test shoot a while ago as it had some good use of colour [and also gave me the chance to experiment more with my ever increasing photoshop skills]. I’ve altered the eyes [whites and irises], skin, hair, spot checked, applied makeup and minor alterations to curves and saturation. [The shot itself was taken originally using a Nikon D40x, 18 – 55mm lens and an SB800 flashgun on camera. To create the above image I created a colour copy and a black and white copy, bought them together as two layers in photoshop then cut out the section revealing the colour shot beneath. Using the line tool I bordered the colour slice.] Please check out Paul’s image here:—> Painswick Sunset – Paul Healey Thanks for the inspiration!
