If you visit Wellington New Zealand, you won’t see this scene anymore. It has long been replaced by fancy seafood restaurants and marinas. However, there used to be a slip at Evans Bay where boats were hauled up for general repair and maintenance. This is the subject of my pen and ink drawing – perhaps of historical significance nowadays – but the strong lines of the slip and the shadows cast by the old boat made a contrasty subject for my composition.
