gouache on paper. Crazy Santa. Who’s been naughty, who’s been nice?
...to all and to all a good night! Picture taken in the Swiss Alps with the Matterhorn in the horizon.
santa is almost ready…are you?
I had a request to put seasons greetings on my original.. so here it is
Lily has been hunting for Santa all day. She has looked everywhere for him. Just when she is about to give up..she see’s his sleigh
Santa had promised Mrs Claws that he would stop and take a cloud nap, at the first sign of fatigue, but that thought was far from his mind, when he was snapped back in his seat, then ripped forward as Rudolf increased power to overcome what he guessed must be turbulence drag. Poor Santa’s eyes literally popped out of his head with the sudden deceleration. Luckily he had modified his body, with a little off season genetic tinkering to cope with just this sort of eventuality. He had not survived for thousands of years without learning some very useful survival techniques along the way. He grinned at the image it must have presented, as his eyes recoiled and plopped back safely into their sockets. The presents were pulled slowly back into the sleigh, as the GPSS (Global Positioning Santa System) combined effectively with the microscopic magnetic linkers, built into the wrapping paper of the spilt gifts. He continued merrily on his way with no ill effects, save a slight twinge of conscience, knowing that the residents of Tjikavik would be without power on Christmas Eve. Well, the power lines weren’t there last year, he thought and he always like to do a low, high speed , fly past over the little hamlet. “Happy Christmas!” he yelled, in an attempt to make up for the power cut. Most of the windows in the tiny town shattered instantly with the sonic boom. He sped off, making a mental note to have a few words with the elf in charge of his Voice Magnifier.

“Sweet Nothings- Detail Study” is an original oil and acrylic mixed media painting and another up close study for my art students and for you, my watchers and support group here at RB. “Sweet Nothings” starts again in a detailed drawing and sprayed with a fixitive to preserve the drawing. / ...I try to help my students understand “What Came First”...it is the way I lay on my paintings…I come out from the canvas with a step style of “What Came First Thought Process”. / So I start with the Sky…down to the forground “Earth”...to me this sets the grounding process of the painting. Next are the images in my painting that come next…what is in the sky and what is coming out of the earth? / I refer to when I see students starting in the foreground committing “Painting The Flower”...read it in a book once and it just nailed for me. / It helps me alert my student as to if they painted the main subject first… going in and painting the background was going to hinder the flow and the outward invitation for your viewer to come in to your painting. / / It might be interesting to know that in the original “Sweet Nothings”...(buried somewhere in my collection)...the woman’s face is about as big as a dime. These were my first portraits until the movie “Lonesome Dove”...that movie alone, changed the course of my painting style. I went to dime size faces to full, sometimes life size human portrait paintings. / This detail study is to help my students have a closer view of some of my fine art…for the purpose of the study on blending, line and color. / My fine Art and Photographic Studio is located in Mesquite, Nevada. / Thank You for viewing my art.
