Hello Tee Peeps Okay, I’ve been a little absent from the Bub of late, however, there is a very good reason (I have a note!)... Selling tees on the Bub taught me a very important lesson- that if you can come up with cool product, and then build a targeted community around it, you’ve got yourself a great business model. So I did. With the money I made from my JOKE tee shirt, I went and bought myself two sewing machines and a roll of fabric. Then I started a blog, and slowly built up a community around it. Finally I launched an online clothing company (Black Milk), which has been really successful. It’s a lot of fun. :) Anyway, the reason I’m dropping y’all a line is to ask a favour, and to offer one: I’m hoping to open a shop in central Brisbane soon, and if I do I’ll probably be stocking RedBubble gear in it (I’ll certainly use art from the Bub for the walls!). I just need a little help opening it. Brisbane Marketing is running a competition where local fashion designers compete to win A FULLY FITTED OUT SHOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY RENT FREE FOR 6 MONTHS. We’re talking about a $50 000 prize package. Damn! The competition is simple, the designer with the most votes gets the shop. I’m thinking it should be me, and hoping you’ll agree! – VOTE Cool, huh? :) jL p.s. You can vote once a day every day… p.p.s If you own the JOKE shirt, congrats, it’s now a limited edition collector’s item.
