no really but this poor chap has a point what do you think?
So. My school is taking part in the fundraiser to free modern day slaves, Loose Change to Loosen Chains, and I’m on the board. I thought that a great way of raising money would be to sell tee shirts with a design that I had doodled during the meeting so here you have it! Know that it is for a good cause, and thank you for taking a moment to read this.
This is an acrylic painting originally painted on canvas panel. I was moved to paint this piece due to all of the escalating violence in Richmond, CA and the rest of the Bay Area.

This is the opening image of a series dedicated to Abakuá, a Cuban secret society,. / Abakuá was originated in Cuba, not in Africa, mainly as a “mutual aid” society for slaves. It´s a bit like a Masonic organization in that its primary focus is to provide Moral guidelines, and to encourage right living in their initiates. Like Masonry, they also have “grades,” or hierarchies of members. / Abakua is a male-only secret society. I created this series in order to explore the origin of this Legend, that is to say, why women don´t have access to the sect. This is a Cinema 4D render; postwork to include text. / Thanks for stopping by.

Image Collection for Jack’s Bee Farm Calendar This is a photograph of the last slave cabin still standing on our farm in Cave Spring. The cabin was one of several slave cabins on Slavery Row behind the main farmhouse. The fact that our ancestors once owned slaves is not something that we are proud of but it is a fact of our history here in the south. The last dairy worker that worked at Montgomery Dairy was Buck White, a direct descendant of the family that lived in the cabin on the left. The cabin on the right was the original cabin and the other was built later. There is solid wall with no door between the cabins. Buck White was born to freed slaves in this cabin and lived his entire life on the Montgomery farm. When he was little boy about 10 years old, my husband’s grandmother took him under her wing. She started the Montgomery Dairy in the1920’s during the Great Depression with only one milk cow. Buck was her only helper as her husband was still trying eek out a living by farming. When her milk business out-grew the farming business, Buck became the head dairyman and continued to work at the dairy until it closed in the 1970’s. When Buck was elderly and could no longer work around the farm, he continued to live in a rent-free house (not the cabin) on the farm until his death. Buck White was a beloved member of the Montgomery family his entire life. Location: Cave Spring, Georgia Thank you for stopping by to comment on this image. Today there are more slaves than there have ever been in the history of the world you can fact check this on the World Wide Web. Slavery has existed from recorded time it is evil and destroys the human soul and the body. Slavery exist everywhere not just in third world countries (“third world countries” a first world demeaning expression or put down for less developed countries exploited by first world countries). Slavery can be defined as sex slaves, child slaves, political slaves, religious slaves, economic slaves, racial slaves, and credit card slaves you can add any other slavery you can think of…even rich people are slaves to their money. Most people will not admit that they are slaves only those that are held in bondage against their will are slaves like children forced to work long hours or women sold into the sex trade, reprehensible disgustingly cruel brutal inhuman slavery…it is thriving and not just in “third world countries” it is the sickness of human beings who revel in exploiting and using their fellow human beings for unnatural purposes and first world citizens are buying slaves of all kinds. / “No Slave No Master” easy to say hard to really do just a reminder that individuals can make a difference step by step and shoulder to shoulder. We in the first world countries have relative freedom for now and do slave in various ways for that carrot or just not to become “by the grace of God go I” homeless or think the unthinkable sell our bodies and souls to the Master…and the Masters smile mercilessly.
Carnton Plantation slaves had living quarters behind the ‘big house’...this is a shot of the interior of the original building and many (if not most) of the items in this photo are original and accurately depict the family life, of those fortunate enough to remain together, during the 1800’s.
Do you sometimes feel like your towing one corporate brand to support another?
I photographed Antonio in 1977. I was working on a story pertaining to abominable housing of illegal alien migrant farm workers in Homestead, Florida. Basically they were slave labor, housed in concentration camp environments. Enjoy your next tomato! Nikon FTn, 50mm f.14, TriX film.
The Road to Freedom, / Is hard, / Hard enough, that many will fall, / Fall and stay down, / Thinking the effort is too much. / A man or woman who begins that road to freedom, / Will encounter intense failure, / But Never, Ever give up, / Although dissatisfaction is the cape, / Every seeker of Freedom must carry, / Don’t give up. / Dissatisfaction is only the emotive reaction, / Finding your spirit and realizing that… / The spirit you do not yet possess, / The quality of knowledge, / Only grew larger. / Grasp it tightly, / Use what you discover, / For knowledge is the Key….. / To Freedom. / I do not want power, / What I want, is Freedom. / Freedom to Seek, / Freedom to Think / Freedom to BE. / It is not happiness that gives real joy, / As happiness is fleeting. / Freedom gives true joy, / For I can reach for the stars, / If I am Free. / No man, can chain down my mind. / ONLY I HAVE THE POWER TO ENSLAVE MYSELF. / God has given me a mind. / He expects me to USE it. / Therefore, He released to me Freedom. / All I have to do….is take it. / All you have to do…..is take it.
