Seals are also shot, but bludgeoning is preferred, because pelt buyers deduct money for every bullet hole in a seal’s skin. Veterinarians who studied a past hunt concluded that the hunters failed to comply with Canada’s basic animal welfare standards and that 42 percent of the seals appeared to have been skinned alive. Despite Canada’s ‘new and improved’ methods being implemented this year, sealers are still slaughtering these pups in the same way they have for previous years. It’s unconscionable. Little miss slaughter hood This is hott off the drawing board and scanned in tonight _ I am super pleased with this design and have been working on this for a few weeks now! I have always had a bit of a thing for the whole –little red riding hood story- and maybe we all have a bit of a thing for the big bad wolf? I know I do :) everyone loves a rebel! / So I wanted to portray that little red hood might not have been the victim as she claimed in the old stories! Sadly my scanner which is normally pretty good didn’t go this image justice! It looks much better in the real and its A3 in size. :( I adjusted the colours but sometimes red turns out a bit flat when scanned I don’t know why I chose to draw it in a more realistic way compared to my other works… sometimes I just like to :) / ALso she has bob tattooed on her arm in a heart with two axes -bob is the tree chopper ;) that origonally saves red riding hood from the wolfs belly by chopping it open! I think I will create the –big bad wolf- version later! Just for fun!

Upper Slaughter and Lower Slaughter share a fascinating name, which derives from “miry place” which it certainly is not now! The link (and the fascination) is the tiny River Eye that links the two small villages. Lower Slaughter is just off the Roman Fosse Way and a wonderfully conserved typical Cotswold village, with a Water Mill and ducks on the stream – a wander alongside the stream seems like a privilege. Upper Slaughter is equally attractive with old cottages and farmhouses, and a Manor House now a hotel.

This sign is of the The Slaughtered Lamb Pub in New York City’s Greenwich Village and it looks eerily similar to the one used in the cult film classic An American Werewolf in London. / / This pub has a good beer selection, decent food and a “Dungeon.” It also has maidens being bitten by werewolves so in other words it’s kind of cheesy yet pretty cool.
