Crazy young crows, teens together / Slapstick silly in any weather. / They flap to the window, stalling right there, / Trying to frighten us into gray hair. To bathe they were taught by their mom and their dad / but since turned on the loose, no baths have they had. / To wash their faces and heads they’re afrighted it’s plain; / they flap upright in fear, shake all around, and try it again. They’ haven’t gone in past their noses I see: / Their mom made them bathe the day before they were free. / Each baby was taught to wash under its wings / wash its back, wash its face and those other things! When each baby was finished and sparkling clean / and Mama was happy with her little teen / Their Papa, whose true heart felt a tug, / fed each little crow child a great, juicy bug! That night everyone perched in a tree / and the youngsters together cried, “Oh! Woe is me!” / Confusion and wonder ran through their heads / because they no longer slept in their beds. All grown up crow children make their own home / to which they return, no matter how far they roam. / They soon choose a mate and stay wedded for life: / Each crow-girl her husband, each crow-man his wife. The wife lays her eggs and soon they hatch: / Lots of babies to feed, a whole great big batch. / The babies grow up like all girls and boys; / they never stop playing, they just get new toys. And so now you know—all about the good Crow! / -=Dayonda

This was actually a theatre piece but I directed and lit the whole thing. The audience reaction was pure shock!

I’m very pleased to announce that having now completed my ‘probation period’ on RB, the group Ademac and I are hosting, is now launched and can be found / Here / or just search ‘Comfy Chair’ in Groups. / As you will see, it’s called ‘No! No! Not The Comfy Chair!!!’ which is a quote taken from the Monty Python ‘Spanish Inquisition’ sketch, where the most severe form of torture was said ‘comfy chair’! / So, this group is for any artwork of a non-violent nature that is designed for either a graphic novel or any kind of illustrated book. Please read the guidelines for further info. I realise there isn’t a lot of stuff on RB related to this genre, but hopefully this group will go some way to address that. I hope to add some work of my own soon to kick the thing off, but would love to see others do likewise soon. If you haven’t done anything of this kind to date, maybe this is a good time to start…Cheers d’O
