  • This is a photo taken at the Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition in the Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery in the Fine Arts Center of Bowling Green State University. The juried show was an opportunity to display a full body of work containing the best images created by graduating seniors. This is the fully-rendered Alternative Digital Print of Hey Dizzle Dizzle. The Alternative Digital Print Method used is a Digital Print transfered onto wood. Graffiti-like spray paint technique was used as a border enhancing the image while giving it an urban-vintage appearance. This alternative process is also known as “fresco.” / Actual Exhibition Dimensions: 7’x4’ Hey Dizzle Dizzle is an Urban take on the well-known “Hey Diddle Diddle”. This is the second, of 6 urban nursery rhymes/fairytales that I have created. The rhyme from “Hey Diddle Diddle” Was not intended to make much sense but its purpose was for each line to rhyme in a funny way. My take on this Mother Goose rhyme adds another twist to this throwing elements of Hip Hop culture, multi-cultural friendship, African-American history and visual characteristics of minority culture. The text in this rhyme is: Hey Dizzle Dizzle / Tha Kat’z on tha Turn-Tizzle / Tha Cowz jumped ova tha Broom / Tha Lil’ Dawg Laughed at tha / Big Dawg’z shortz / Tha Satellite Dish ran away with Hiz spoon

  • British Chav

Discovered this Public Domain image on Wikimedia and had to give the image justice on a tee. You can see the link reference here BRITAIN / Chav, Chava or Charva or Charver is a derogatory term applied to certain young people in the United Kingdom. The stereotypical image of a chav is a white aggressive teen or young adult, of working class background, who wears branded sports and casual clothing, who often fights and engages in petty criminality, and is often assumed to be unemployed or in a low paid job. The term may originate from the Romani language. In its English form, the term is generally derogative, and has appeared in mainstream dictionaries in 2005. / / Caricature of a chav. The term chav has many regional alternatives; its North East England variant charva or charv, used in Tyne and Wear. Charver was a common word of wide but not all-embracing popularity in Newcastle throughout the latter half of the 19th century, synonymous with lad or kid, and derivative of chawvo, a Romany expression meaning “a young person, a friend”. During the 1990s, charver underwent a semantic disfigurement, and massive growth in usage within speakers of Geordie and some related dialects. Its shift in meaning was towards that of an insult; at this point charver and chav became synonyms, although the latter was yet to enter common parlance. It is likely that the term chav is a recent derivative of charver, but also possible that the two words are entirely etymologically distinct. Other equivalents to chav include scally, prevalent in north-west England (particularly Liverpool) and townie, a word now seemingly enveloped by chav. Similar words in use outside England include ned or scunner in Scotland, spide or skanger in Ireland, and spide, milly (from Mill-girl) and steek in Northern Ireland. Response to the term has ranged from amusement to criticism that it is a new manifestation of classism. One BBC TV documentary suggested that chav is an evolution of previous working-class youth subcultures associated with particular commercial clothing styles, such as mods, skinheads and casuals. However, chav is not a straight synonym for “working class person”; it refers to a specific mode of behaviour, dress and speech that is far from universal amongst the British working class.[citation needed]). The term has been associated with juvenile delinquency, the ASBO Generation and yob culture. TO TAKE THE PISS / To take the piss is a British slang expression meaning to mock, tease, ridicule or scoff. Take the mickey (or variations) are euphemistic ways of conveying this expression where the word “piss” may be vulgar. / The term sometimes refers to a form of mockery or a piss take in which the mocker exaggerates the other person’s characteristics; pretending to take on his or her attitudes, etc., in order to make them look funny. / The phrase is in common usage throughout English society, employed by headline writers in broadsheet gazettes and tabloids as well as colloquially and is also used in English speaking countries such as Australia. In colloquial usage, ‘taking the piss’ is also used to refer to someone or something that makes a claim which is not in line with a recognised agreement e.g. an invoice that is double the quoted price with no explanation for the added charge could be said to ‘take the piss’, or likewise if something consistently misses a deadline ACRYLIC ART CALENDARS CARDS POETRY PHOTOGRAPHY – ANIMALS PHOTOGRAPHY -CANDID SHOTS PHOTOGRAPHY – CATS AND DOGS PHOTOGRAPHY – CONTEMPORARY WORK PHOTOGRAPHY – FLOWERS PHOTOGRAPHY – INSECTS PHOTOGRAPHY – TRADITIONALLY TURKISH PHOTOGRAPHY – TREE AND TREE PARTS T-SHİRTS My Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. Curling is a team sport with similarities to bowls and shuffleboard, played by two teams of four players each on a rectangular sheet of carefully prepared ice. Teams take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones down the ice towards the target (called the house). Two sweepers with brooms accompany each rock and use timing equipment and their best judgment, along with direction from their teammates, to help direct the stones to their resting place. The complex nature of stone placement and shot selection has led some to refer to curling as “chess on ice.”[ Gentle typographical WTF design WTF, an internet slang acronym for “What the fuck?” / Internet slang (Internet language, netspeak, or chatspeak) is slang that Internet users have popularized and, in many cases, coined.
