This was taken at sunset at Vivonne Bay beach on Kangaroo Island, South Australia. I have added a layer of texture to it to create this artwork. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera. This was featured in the For the love of Canon Group.
Another shot made last fall while visiting my favourite place in my hometown, one crisp and sunny morning. This is the parc de la Promenade in Candiac, Quebec, and I thought that the clouds reflected in the calm waters of the St. Lawrence river looked like a puffy double-edged lace. We can see the faint outline of Montreal at far right. Focal length 24mm / ISO-100 / Aperture f/9 / Shutter 1/320 sec. “The world’s a theatre, the earth a stage, Which God and nature do with actors fill”- Ancient Poverb Dying storm at sea under a full moon, Bundeena Cliffs, Royal National Park. Do you ever find yourself surprised by a picture you’ve taken – it keeps calling you back and you can’t put your finger on why? You know it’s probably not going to be popular but something about it just won’t let you go. That’s this pic for me. I had a whole sequence of lightning shots from the height of this storm and was going to create a composite. But at the very end of the storm, as the full moon rose through its fraying ends this little moment happened. And it just won’t let me go. Canon 1Ds MkIII / Tv: 30secs / Av: f/4 / ISO: 200 / FL: 35mm

We are into winter now and we have not had anywhere near the rainfall we should have had by now. There is talk of total watering bans through winter as our water levels are way below the average. This Lake Joondalup just north of Perth (30mins) in Western Australia. /

Taken in bright sunlight down by the River Swan in East Perth, Western Australia. Much more dramatic as a monochrome, bringing out the layers and texture of the cloud formation and de-emphasising the foreground. A variation on just looking up – I have a pair of sunglasses that are really useful in picking out clouds that would look good in monochrome – they seem to highlight the clouds in the same way.
