    by Stephanie Rachel Seely

    US$3.71–US$98.80

One of my first autobiographical pieces. My childhood seed / has finally bloomed / amid the tangled brambles of a forest / confused / by distorted shadows / and I struggle to push back / this oppressive canopy. / Here I stand on the banks / of a world that was once so beautiful. / In this frenzy of growing up / I had almost forgotten the untroubled sleep / of innocent dreams / and those moments laced with magic / only children are divine enough to recognize. / For a moment / I can only stand in the silence / and breathe the fragrant bliss / of absolute stillness. / For a moment / I know that the world I remember / was never really as magical / as wonderful / as I had once believed. / It was only the projection of naïveté / and make believe / but there / upon the horizon / I saw such a world / so far beyond my reach. / The burdens of age were forgotten / and fell away / and, for a moment / I was a child / again. • Looking south to Wollongong from Garie Cliffs in Royal National Park. Royal lies sandwiched between Wollongong and Sydney. Because of the light from both cities this shot of the Milky Way has but a fraction of the actual stars visible and less than 1% of this would be visible within the cities. / Makes for a pretty picture but where does wonder go when the light blocks out the stars? The night sky is the only time we ever get to see the infinite. What happens to us when we lose that? / Tv 30s / Av f3.5 / ISO 3200 / FL 10mm

  • I thought it might be interesting to go back to Garie Lookout and do a startrails version of Wonder Lies Sleeping ‘Neath a Mantle of Light. If you missed the original it’s here: The line running through the bottom left is a plane – couldn’t get rid of it without making a big hole in my startrails. This image is a composite of 51 X 30 second exposures using the brilliant schursastrophotography photoshop action here: http://www.schursastrophotography.com/software/photoshop/startrails.html Also I’ve written a little story to go with it if you haven’t already read it: http://www.redbubble.com/people/geoffcoleman/writing/769745-wonder-lies-sleeping-neath-a-blanket-of-light

  • Moraine Lake
    by PhotoDucky

    US$3.71–US$98.80

Moraine Lake is a glacially fed lake in Banff National Park, 14 kilometres outside the Village of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 6183 feet (1884 m). The lake has a surface area of 0.5 km². The lake, being glacially fed, does not reach its crest until mid to late June. However, when it is full, it is a beautiful shade of blue. The lake gets its color from the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis. source: wikipedia Taken with a Nikon D70s with a 18-200mm Sigma lens

  • Coogee rockpool
    by Juilee Pryor

    US$5.70–US$152.00

Another not entirely right panorama from a camera my father made. Using these little cameras were a bit of a trick at times but the results were so various and mad that I love them. There are only five in this series. Below is a thumbnail of some Dad’s camera’s His camera always produced much better photo ’s technically than mine but I maintain that the mistakes I made with mine made for a more interesting image :)

  • Redfern Panarama
    by Juilee Pryor

    US$5.70–US$152.00

This series of panaramas was taken with a handmade camera using 120 film. The eccentric nature of the image is probably down to the eccentric nature of the camera! My father made it for me out of painted panels of MDF and a bit of twiddling …. oh and really nice Mamiya 1:6.3, 65mm lens. This is one of my favourite driveby images in the city hub. Its looking back towards the city and at the Redfern Housing Commission Blocks at the back edge of Redfern and Surry Hills. If you look really closely you will see a tiny little Centrepoint Tower next to the smallest of the tower blocks. Just over to the right of that in the sky is a tiny little dot which is actally a helicopter flying a huge Aussie flag. Because of the size and quality of the negative, if this was blown up to mural size you would be able to see the all the details on the flag and the helicopter. I would estimate this negative to be the equivent of around 250-300 megapixels. Film will never die! The colour balance is what happened when I scanned it and I love it . It seems to suit the other worldly sense of place in this image. I hope you guys like it too. Below is a thumbnail of some Dad’s camera’s His camera always produced much better photo ’s technically than mine but I maintain that the mistakes I made with mine made for a more interesting image :) /
